I agree. It does cause a safety issue if someone pulls on it while a player is running but is it more dangerous than when someone pulls on a player's shirt while he's running through on goal? Think of Chiellini pulling Saka's shirt. If sponsors were willing to pay top dollar to put their logos on it, I bet FIFA would approve it in a heartbeat. Therefore, it's not really about safety. If it was, they wouldn't schedule so many matches, shift a World Cup, and come up with even more tournaments to wear players out.

If you are cold during a game it means you are not active enough. If you over dress it will also increase your body temperature during the game and as such have a negative impact on your performance. It is one thing to dress up before a game and then do the warm up. To perform over an 80 minute game layered up is a no no. There is also the fact that you can get more used to the cold weather by wearing less clothing. When I did military service I was used to less clothing and being out in horrible conditions but many of the training cadre were not used to it and really struggled when being put through it. Nothing like being up and rolling through wet freezing cold mud at 4:30 in the morning in the month of January.

@@thesurrealist7 Of course the US should be first in that list, and being awarded as hosts of the 1994 WC was also a sign of the corruption and money-driven politics in FIFA. They gathered around the same time to discuss the 2022 WC hosts and to discuss the snood, and the safety concerns olny mattered about the snood. Sounds like toxic masculinity was a big factor. As a Minnesotan who went to the usmnt v Honduras when it was -19c. Multiple players were subbed due to hypothermia. If they had had these it would have really helped make it a fun competitive match. The safety thing is a bit valid, but Im comfortable with players making their own risk/benefit analysis. Plus it could be mostly avoided by making a weak seam so that theyd rip before causing the worse injuries.

The pettiness and insecurity of some folk on here. Comparing a snood to skirt and high heels. Saying real men don't wear gloves or snoods. They're the same guys that think sunscreen is for wimps because who cares about blistering skin. As for those comparing it to tracksuits, players do wear long legged bottoms under their shorts, such as "under-armour" as well as long sleeved shirts or undershirts. So why would a neck warmer be any different? They could make them thinner perhaps, more skin tight maybe to be harder to grasp (harder to pull). I get the safety concern, but to pretend that a simple neckwarmer is going to destroy the world of football is pathetic
@CaptainCreampie692 жыл бұрын
