Rick and Morty Fans. Brays and moans about not getting a season a year. Venture Bros Fans: Let's the show stew in our collective memory for years and years at a time, considering every single moment and character interaction and how they could be used to bamboozle us in future story arcs. Wonder at what significance the most throw away lines of dialogue could offer up in terms of character development while we patiently wait for that next drop of comedic nectar, and the Creator's do it all without preaching, tone policing their audience, or calling them sexist, racist, ect. The Venture Bros is a fucking blessing. A genuine fucking blessing. One thing that goes HIGHLY UNDERAPPRECIATED about the Venture Bros is it is terminally unquotable. You rarely if ever get a line that can be abused into the dirt by tryhard comedians, or overexposed to the point of nausea. The Venture Bros is ONLY funny in context. You either get the joke, or you don't. The only way you can get a chuckle out of quoting the venture Bros is lighting in a bottle levels of cosmic alignment.

As someone who watched the pilot when it first aired and loved it, I must admit the best thing about the Venture Bros for me is all the ways the characters grow apart from who they were in the beginning. Doc as a plucky adventurer, Brock's depth and sentimental side, Dean as the black sheep of the family, and Hank as this weird amorphous party God. And the more we learn about the Monarch, the less of a villain he becomes. Literally, not just in a half-assed "evil is a matter of perspective" way. It's like a finger trap -- the harder he fights it the stronger it gets. And all the stuff with Jonas and the original Team Venture. I love it. "SHARKY'S MACHINE!"

Been a fan since the beginning. It is an amazing show. The sheer amount if continuity and character progression is amazing. Not only is it chock full of nerdastic and pop culture references but it can be self referentional in amazing ways. Every new seasons major revelations cause a rewatch of the series with deeper appreciation for how much world building Hammer and Publick have really done. You just have to have patience as a fan, as I said, been watching since the beginning. Was a junior in high school when season one came out. In my mid 30s when season 7 hit. Aaaaaand if you watch the uncensored episodes... be prepared.

Rewatching the entire series I am also seeing a big theme of toxic masculinity, and I don't mean in the sjw "man spreading" sense. I mean in the way that society puts so much pressure on men. That there is a specific standard a man HAS to live up to and if they don't then they are totally worthless regardless of their actual merit or desires that may fall outside these parameters. Many people seem to not notice or want to acknowledge the problems men face in this modern era. Also notice how the majority of the characters are supremely flawed and incompetent males. While the few females that are in the show are mostly competent or at least level headed, except for...you know. I'd say my friends are split down the middle between males and females and I do notice a great disparity in achievements and wellness between them. My male friends and I all seem to still be struggling or just drifting through life. Still trying to figure out what we want to do or just stay on our feet. While my female friends have all graduated knowing what they want to do/are already in their careers and doing well. I can really relate and see myself in the Venture Brother's group of male fuck ups. When it seems like many other popular shows are constantly portraying this idea that men are playing life on easy mode while women are the only ones in society struggling in this male dominated world. Don't get me wrong I realize women have their share of problems, it's just that the mainstream is constantly portraying that while totally ignoring or even diminishing the plight of the other side. Damn I did not mean for this to become such a long rant haha.

There a scene where Dean is complaining about his father, and his father's failure as parent. Brock says, "There are not many fathers, that bring their children back from the dead." One of the points of the show, is Thadus Venture is a bad father, but he infinitly better then his own father. Even though he's not much of human being, he does what he can for his sons. In truth, not many fathers bring their dead children back to life.Honestly, most us are shits, but we can raise above our limitations, and do great things.

rick and morty doesnt even compare. Venture Bros' candid and snappy dialogue is a million times better than that pseudo intellectual crap. Unlike Rick and Morty where it's "intellegence" is based entirely on them forcing the narritve to claim it's main character HAS to be "smartest man in the room". Venture Bros is intelligently written because they put more time effort and heart into making it feel like an honest show about flawed characters. They don't need some big monologue about why "your not evil your smart" and pretending that counts as an identity crisis, it's as simple as Monarch having to come to terms with the fact that all he can and ever be is "The Man Who Hates Doctor Venture" no monologue showing not telling. They don't spell it out for you or spoon feed you the moral, they make you go back and figure it out for yourself and draw your won conclusions about who was right or wrong. We honest to god need less Rick and Morty's and more Venture Bros.

In my opinion, The Venture Bros is better than Rick and Morty in large part because The Venture Bros has a huge diverse cast and you could make an episode out of any number of pairings, and there will be someway to make it funny. They're all well rounded well written characters that have actual development that grow and change instead of reverting to the status quo by the end of every episode.

Plane and simple The Venture Brothers is one of the best animated series ever. Yes I can say...I've started watching cartoons when Marvel started with Spider-man, Hulk and Captain America in 1968 I was 4 and that's kicked off everything. I've been drawing ever since. Venture Brothers is genius, hilarious and definitely for adults 😁😂

I fucking love this show. I remember Johnny Quest and knew this was almost like an homage but I found JQ to be so BORING. This show at times would weirdly inspire me. And still does! 😂 I want to make beloved and memorable characters like this! Hank, Dean, Brock, Rusty, the Monarch, Dr. Girlfriend, the 2 henchmen of the Monarch...etc. It really was hard to pick favorites. They're all so lovable and endearing in a weird twisted way haha Man, you making me want to binge watch all seasons now!
