Great video! REALLY looking forward to Thief 4 :D The water arrows were awesome, so I hope that bit about being "more practical" with it by pinching out light sources doesn't mean they're doing away with water arrows. I'm pretty sure you could pinch out candles in Thief 3, as well.

We think, this is ok, as you don't have to use the mode, it is only there, but you do not need to activate it, if you wish not to. That being said, we are not massive Thief fans, but we really enjoy the series, so what do we know. -ShuSoc (Pierre)

I'm kinda glad they are rebooting the series. The 3rd thief basically ended the game series in a great way. It's nice to see what Eidos Montreal can do

Yes they are still great (if you can stand the graphic). Start with thief 1 because 2 is a direct sequel.

Thief 1 and 2 are worth playing. They are about 13-14 years old, so you'll have to adjust to the graphics, but they really were great games (with better level design than Thief 3).

Well I have maneged to not use water arrows in some missions . But simply just use the shadows that are there. And just set up really good ambushes and knock out guards

in the newest thief water arrows are essential to have inside buildings due to shadows and due to being seen

Moss arrows could be very effective against units, in a way it would stun them. And in regards to this Thief reboot..I hope they hit on every as well as they did in the originals..when companies do reboots aren't they effectively disregarding everything that made the game what it was?

I just hope they don't hand you tons of arrows like they did in Deadly Shadows. The great thing about the first and second games were your limited supplies that you had to use strategically.

I would put good money that it will be the same engine used for Tomb Raider. If it can run that game, you should be ok.

We're talking Thief here, not real-life thievery. Thief is certainly not a franchise rooted in a realistic representation of actual burglary, seeing as there are wizards and undead and various other fantastical elements.

no, crystallized water. it's implicitly stated in the game's lore that the water arrows are made by strapping a water crystal to an arrow, which is why picking up a water crystal in the level grants you an additional water arrow. it's the same for fire arrows, moss arrows, and gas arrows.

That's cool and all. But there are probably more immersive ways to implement these systems than such foolishness as shooting arrows at the ground to clean up blood.
