Every Fate series is canon in some way or another as long as it has a constant parallel between each other. For example; In FGO, The son of Siegfried's master during Fate Apocrypha, Adult Waver, and Kirei all came to Chaldea. Thus making the events from Fate Zero, Fate Stay Night, Fate Apocrypha, and Fate Grand Order all align and co-relate between each other. (Whether Fate Strange Fake is in the same universe or not is still debatable, but I think it is) Especially every time Waver shows up, it's basically canon

During the 3rd, that took place during ww2, Darnick stole the greater grail and then the next one was the great holy grail war in Romania. The only way Waver could get involved in a holy grail war was to participate in one of the fake ones.

so here's a little conundrum: The Great Holy Grail war takes place in a timeline where A ruler was summoned during the third Holy Grail War instead of an Avenger, Which means the Grail was never corrupted. Additionally, this timeline saw the Grail Stolen from Fuyuki City, and brought elsewhere, though this isn't important. What IS important: It's heavily implied that there has not been a Holy Grail war since the third, And Waver fought as a teenager in the fourth. If Waver is an adult, that means that the Great Holy Grail War takes place around the same time that the Fifth Holy Grail War would have been taking place in Fuyuki. Waver was obviously not participating in the Third, and there seems to have been No fourth for him to participate in. So the question is this: What convoluted series of events, in THIS timeline, led to Waver Velvet becoming Lord El Melloi II?

Different masters and servants even teams aren't called black and red but ice and storm. There is something that has always been bugging me about Reines. Why did she never went after Kiritsugi? Given, Waver was easy pickings considering he was stupid enough to return to the mage association in London. But it's kinda wierd to put all the blame on Waver and not the person that actually pulled the trigger. Surely enough someone like Reines would have found about Kiritsugi eventually. But lets assume she didn't wanted to waste any effort, that leaves the question why she didn't do the same to Shirou Emiya (as she did to Waver) when Shirou eventually went to the mage association in UBW. Considering Reines nasty personality to make the "pure" fall, Shirou would be a number 1-2 on the list for her (easily goating him/playing on his self deprecating survivor guilt nature)... My only reason for her overlooking this entirely would simply be that Reines didn't exist yet as a character (same with Waver) when Fate stay night was written (considering fate zero and case files came afterwards).

A couple of reasons. First of all, Reines doesn't really resent Kayneth's death on a personal level. She's more concerned about the fallout as after Kayneth's death, the El Melloi's authority, properties and privileges were stolen by rival families, leaving the El Melloi family at a tenth of what it was. She only uses the pretense of Kayneth's death to guilt trip Waver into working for her. With her power so limited, I doubt Reines would want to take the risk of provoking the Magus Killer or his adopted son even if she hypothetically wanted revenge gor Kayneth.

Is it the student who stole the catalyst of the current head to prove a point or is it the magus killer that the head would face regardless of the former happening and used his orginin bullet to demolisch the head's magic circuits and crest and eventually caused his death which resulted into the fall of the great house? Reines was grasping at straws when she kidnapped Waver, even if she didn't went after Kiritsugi right away... there is no way years later when a "Shirou Emiya" joins the clock tower (who also is a holy grail suvivor) would not have peaked her interrests. (infact replace the name "Waver" with "Shirou" in your above comments and you could easily see how it would be completely in Reines nature to do so). It would pretty write itself at this point.

@@yarigold Again, Reines kidnapped Waver out of curiosity after meeting him due to his experiences in the Holy Grail War and one of the few people to survive it as well as his own ability as an educator. It's got nothing to do with Waver's role in her brother's death. She only claims that she resents him for Kayneth's death in order to guilt-trip him into working for her, and she didn't even expect it to work. She also saw Kayneth's attempt to enter the Holy Grail War as a death wish, so if you were to ask her who was responsible for her brother's death and the subsequent fall of the El-Melloi family, she would most likely answer that it was her brother's fault. Both Shirou and Ren would interest her greatly, but she doesn't have nearly the authority to try the same stunt that she did with Waver to Rin and, by extension, Shirou as he's working as her bodyguard/manservant. You have to understand that Reines is in a horrible position in the Clocktower. Her Magical Crest is in tatters, all of her resources have been appropriated by her rival families, and her family has been stripped of most of its authorities. As such, one misstep and she easily could end up another guinea pig or pawn for one of the many magus' in the Clocktower. Reines herself described her situation as "having to balance on a tightrope for more than ten years" and she visibly hesitates when asked if she has any real friends or allies aside from Waver. That's why she likes hanging out with Gray as her past makes her one of the few people inside the Clocktower that has absolutely no ties with any other magus families, and thus, she poses no threat. She can't toy with Shirou the same way she did with Waver because Shirou enters the Clocktower underneath the Tohsaka name and screwing around with him could potentially draw the ire of Tohsaka. And as bad as Rin's debt is, her position is leagues better than Reines' even discounting Rin's astounding magical potential and intact Magic Crest.

@@Birthday888 (except that Rin's Magic crest is in tatters in UBW when she gave it to Shirou and completely disolved later in the fight, you can thank Nasu's retcon for that...). Not to mentioned that Kotomine pretty much ruined alot of her inheritance as a caretaker on purpose... So Rin's "influence" and "standing" is highly overestimated at the clock tower. If Reines was actually present in UBW she would definitely had the chance to guild trip Shirou into working of "the debt" Kiritsugi had caused. Or simply playing/toying with Shirou as a curiousity. It would fit perfectly with her personality.

@@yarigold Kirei's mismanagement of her family's assets turned Rin from being obscenely wealthy to just simply wealthy. She still obtains enough money from her family's patents to the point where she can still live a comfortable life without worrying about income. Even without her Magic Crest (thanks for the correction btw), Rin's status as an Average One and her magical potential make her extremely valuable to the Mage's Association. Beyond that, the prestige of being a Tohsaka, a family descended from a disciple of Zeltretch, still holds water even without their crest. Look, I'm not arguing that Reines toying with Shirou wouldn't be in character for her, but she isn't stupid. Notice how she only ever teases Gray and Waver in that fashion? Everyone else, she holds at an arms length and at most only says a snide remark because she's always on guard around them. Besides, why would she risk creating an enemy in Rin when Shirou has barely anything to offer her? Even if Waver's magical circuits are of crap quality, his techinical expertise more than makes up for that and are of vital importance to her considering that she is just as handicapped as he is and has him working on restoring her damaged family crest. Shirou only has access to one specific magic that only he can use due to his origin. He's pretty much useless to Reines. You're basing your predictions of Reines behaviour purely off one aspect of her personality without taking into account her current circumstances. If she can't afford to let her guard around people like Svin and Flat, then she certainly can't afford to do it with Shirou.

Sakura being an edefelt instead of matou. Shinji ring announcer. Shirou lawyer and the houses giving up on the grail because of it. For Fsn wise. Shishgo is still alive and the yddrislial family is different seeing caules be the main as his sister gave up her crest to be a normal girl but he does use electric magic to reference Fran and we see gordes with his father as well as him too. Fgo changes gordes is the head of chaldea and Olga died while El mellioi she is ok.

Even kalied Kerry kept the war from happening and ran away with his family but El mellioi 2 is still around which Rin the goes to clocktower ealry meeting Shirou as a middle schooler Heck even the manga goes into this showing one of the dummy masters from amakuas side being in one of these wars but all failing because they were not good enough having less than 6 servants that was needed to fill a real grail for Mana. Also showed kariya and Shirou as master examples

This comic is adorable and love seeing more of these characters but if this is the apocrypha timeline, why on earth does waver have Any knowledge of the grail much less Have summoned Alexander? Didn't the fourth holy Grail war not even happen in this timeline because during the 3rd the greater grail was stolen meaning it wouldn't have been in place or in proper control to proceed to a fourth ground warrant of fuyuki or does that still happen even if ygg is. Nasu statement has him, Kirsch and Pepe on the same level combat wise, which obviously means that at base, Kirsch and Daybit are on par with Pepe, who isn’t the god slaughtering monster we see of Kirsch in Olympus. How can Waver be Lord El Melliol II in this timeline of apocrypha, when the holy grail was stolen in the third war? When the grail was stolen, then it would mean, that the fourth grail war in Fuyuki can‘t be happened and therefore Waver didn‘t had a chance to summon Iskander or that the former El Melliol couldn‘t have been killed in the fourth grail war and therefore Waver didn‘t had a chance, to take his place as a lord.

This is nice, too bad that the real reason that Waver didn't join, was because he wasn't selected at all or maybe not even an option, the events of Fate Zero didn't happened in the Fate Apocrypha time line, the grail was stolen in the third war, so Waver never met Iskandar, and Kayneth is still alive, so there's not even a relationship with the Archibald, It is possible that in this timeline Waver never amounted to anything, without the experiences of the fourth war and the respect of having survived it, maybe he never managed to distinguish himself, who knows.

Actually no! While the exact grail war didn’t happen in this timeline, they made it clear that Waver still took Kayneth’s place in a separate Grail War and summoned Iskander. Confusing I know, but my actors and I had to double check the wiki so we could understand the context of the scene better 🤷‍♀️

the weird thing is is how this fits into the apocrypha timeline, it fits into the fate stay night universe but in apocrypha the forth grail war never happened, instead Darnik stole the grail in the third war, meaning he would have never met rider in aporcypha and el melloi 1st wouldnt have died, idk if i got this wrong so please tell me if i have

Lore-wise [well, based on the Apoc manga anyway], Waver still participated in a different grail war where he summoned Iskandar and defeated Kayneth. This is straight out of the official Apoc manga though so I don't know alot of the nitty gritty [haven't read it in full yet]
