My Sis adopted a boy from state care. Was told he wouldn't amount to anything. Lots of therapy and love later, he is a college graduate and a corrections officer. God is good!

Keep up what you are doing! We have adopted 3 from Taiwan and have the same passion and calling on our life! Keep encouraging and please NEVER let the negative people get in your hearts and minds. Your voice and encouragement is needed and greatly appreciated! There are some that will never understand your journey, but there are MANY that love and appreciate all that you are doing! Thank you for your continued RADICAL OBEDIENCE to The Lord!

Thanks so much for talking so openly about your faith in Christ. What we do for the least, we do for HIM. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked etc. Many forget that and just care about how they can improve and be better . Just go into a hospital and you will FIND HIM everywhere. There are so many people out there to get your attention and hear about Christ's love. Love to touch. ❤️

Our family has adopted from foster care, but it is so hard when you want to say YES! to every child. When you were talking about the vast number of children that need adopted and how it feels so hard to make a difference it reminded me of the Starfish Story. You may have heard of it, but it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. I will post a reply comment here with the link, just in case you have links unapproved. Anyway, whether you adopt one child or 20 it make a difference! Oh, and as far as waiting for a "dramatic" adoption story. Sometimes all you have to do is start and that dramatic story is waiting for you even if you didn't want it! Following what the Lord has called you to do is so much more rewarding than you can ever know beforehand. ❤

I love God’s story through you about adoption. Our family has been so blessed by adoption. Our youngest child was adopted through international adoption along with several nieces. Our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of adopting their second child from Taiwan. I have always had a heart for the orphans. My husband and I are too old to adopt at this point in our lives, but we can still serve God through adoption with our finances and time. Giving to families who are climbing the big mountain of financial costs of adoption and offering to give parents a night out after bringing their children home are ways to continue to support adoption. Thank you Stan and Ashley for your service to God and the orphans. You are making a difference one child at a time.

I pray for the orphans around the world often. It is always on my heart. My prayer includes comfort and love for the littles and for families, like yours, to come for these precious children. My husband and I adopted both of our beautiful daughters from foster care when they were babies. They are now 28 and 24. We continued to foster babies after their adoption to help them find their forever famiies:) We are now 61 and sadly too old to adopt again. Prayer is the way we are trying to help these precious children. Thank you for all you do. It matters in a very big way!

Amen to every word in this video!!! You both have spoke absolute TRUTH & I am so glad to “know” you. Just last night I sent an email to our caseworker that we were making the choice to update our home study, even though we weren’t confident our adoption would ever happen from China. But, as I am sitting here hearing you speak, the Holy Spirit has sent confirmation that our family needs to hold tight to the commitment we made to our waiting son. Nothing makes sense in my human mind about why it hasn’t happened yet. But - I have been reminded that as we (also) made a nonchalant choice to adopt our son (sitting on our couch one night in June 2020), it was blessed by the Lord, and for us to just walk away at this point, it’d be grieving the Holy Spirit to do so. So as tough as it is, we are here for the long haul, because it matters for eternity. 🙌🏻💙

Yes, I feel the same as you! We won't walk away from our current adoption until and if the Lord slams a FAT door in our face. I just can't walk away on my own understanding. So, like you, trusting the Lord to guide us and lead us as He sees best. The rest, I just block it out of my mind otherwise I can go batty. ;) Thanks for sharing! Hang in there!

This post so blessed my day. Watching Stan's face while Ashley was talking was so sweet. It was as if I could see his thoughts as he was reliving what she said. I'm still praying for your Lilly Grace. He knows the time. You may have mentioned this, but did you name Izzy and Mika or are those their names from the orphanages?

Thank you for these great reminder. We are still working through a Philippines adoption. Are you allowed to adopt while you are waiting?
@TheFeltsFamily2 жыл бұрын
Well, sorta yes. But there is risk there depending on many factors. For us currently, the issue is if we were to bring home another child while waiting on our China adoption--we would then have no more space in our home for another child. For us, right now, a concurrent adoption doesnt make sense.

In the Netherlands, you're not allowed to adopt above the age of 40! National adoption hardly excists, and foreign adoption is very expensive. So, even if you want to adopt, money and age can be the reasons you actually cannot.
@TheFeltsFamily2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I understand that. Income level and age can also play a part here in the USA as well. If one can not adopt because of circumstances out of their control, they can still play a part in orphan care. There are many ways that we can all do something even if its not the physical act of adopting. ;).

International adoption isn’t even allowed in the Netherlands at the moment 😤😩

I feel called to adoption because I have a few cousins and friends who were adopted domestically! From an early age, I realized that it doesn't matter whether people look like their relatives or not in order to be considered as a 'REAL FAMILY"! Also I've dealt with ASD since I was 2 years old, and my parents fought hard to make sure that I got the therapies that I needed to get me to where I'm at today! I want to do the same thing with special needs kids through international adoption whether they have an extra chromosome, if they need a wheelchair to get around, if they are visually impaired, etc! I believe I have what it takes just like other neurotypical people who aspire to adopt as well! No matter what are abilities are, we all deserve to have a place in this world along with those who are less fortunate than we are!
@TheFeltsFamily2 жыл бұрын
Love that! Sounds like you have the heart and right perspective in choosing adoption!

Ashley, do you know what the age limit is for a person to adopt a child?
@TheFeltsFamily2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the country. But typically the youngest parent can’t be more than 55 years older than the child they are adopting. But again, varies by country.

Some of these children might have been better off dead. How is Isabelle ever going to have a good quality of life? And it astounds me that people are willing to sacrifice their entire lives to care for these kids in order to please a God that there is no proof exists. It’s not that these people want to care for them, they do it because they need to be seen as doing the right thing. It’s crazy to me. What’s going to happen to these kids once they’re adults? 🤔What will Isabelle be like in 20 years? Meeka Ella has some hope, but I don’t see any hope for Isabella ever having a good quality of life. All this extreme religion is definitely a Bible Belt thing. Trump country. These are the same people voting for Trump. Let that sink in.
