Al & Gina, i feel as though ive known you for years. Hey, i have. We have never met, and became of the tyranny of distance we probably never will...unfortunately. Your farming methods prove that you both are thinking farmers...I like that! Your planning and building methods and skill set are improving constantly...I like that too! Even back on your old homestead you were brave. I say that because you embraced a completely different lifestyle from that which caused you so much stress. As an old retired farmer (cattle breeder), medical scientist, mechanic, and general all rounder, I am so proud of you youngsters. Keep up the great work. I'm travelling in my motorhome solo, and the happiest I've been in my life. Off-grid living is the best! I await your videos...

Forrest reminds me more than a little bit of Figaro. He’s such a good supervisor! Given the whacked out track of storms, the hurricane brackets are a good idea. Florida had another hurricane (Milton) go completely across the middle of the state overnight, and the blasted storm spun off a record number of tornadoes on its way in. They’re kind of used to the hurricanes, but the tornadoes found them a little flummoxed.

Those hurricane support you used for the roof header will not support roof loads. An underneath support is needed at each vertical post of the original barn structure.

Yes, between Helene, Milton, and what may come after i would imagine that getting buikding materials ordered sooner over later is going to be important. From what i can tell the lesser affected regions are beginning to recover and fix; it does help to have electricity and water and last i heard not even all of Georgia has thier power back.

You should offset your joins. Put an extra join on the inside so they meet on the inside at first post but outside at second.
