“We don’t want too” Exactly. 👏🏾 I’m adopted myself and I also choose not to talk about why and how I ended up getting adopted. All everyone needs to know is I’m safe, happy, and thriving with my new family! As are your beautiful kids. Thanks for being understanding of their situations. This is why I watch you guys. Too many people put their fame/views first and their children second. You don’t do this and that is why you’re the only family vloggers I will ever watch. ❤️

I really respect that you publicly acknowledge the trauma that goes with adoption at the same time as keeping your children’s individual journeys private. Thank you for sharing resources to support families and communities. I also just wanted to tell you that your videos deeply comforts and nourishes me. I feel so inspired by how you honor your family.

I think it’s important and special that Jude, and Liam have each other and that Penny and Lincoln have each other, as well as the rest of the family. It never feels good to feel different or like the odd one out, so I love that they have someone in their family from the same place as them to always feel connected to. You guys are doing an amazing job.

The tie with birth parents is undeniable. It is a story and history. So is undeniable of the parents who adopted and shouldered great responsibilities in all aspect of the child upbringing. I am brought up by my grandmother. I have a lot of characters that resembles her. She has been my everything and continues to be, though she is not alive. Even my husband who doesn't know her often tells me that he loves her. He sees her through me. When, I watched your children, I am able to see you both. Witness the energy, time and dedication you have invested on them to be who they are now and will be in the future. They will surely be proud of you so will you be in them. Remain blessed.

Wonderful heartfelt video. Thank you for sharing . . . Lincoln makes me smile. 'Wee' is a word my toddler son used a lot. "I wanna go to the Wee," he would say. I think that is absolutely the way to raise a kid if you adopt. You don't need to be reminded constantly that you are adopted or an outsider or all those other things. There must already be troubled with so many questions. When time comes, when they grow up and IF they feel like knowing their birth parents, it is their decision to make. Until then I think you guys are doing absolutely right by just being like every other family. It shows you guys are really in it together, love each other and see all of your children the same way.

Your family is so healing for my adoptee heart. I stuffed away my feelings about being adopted for years. Trying only to be positive and then recently in my 30’s I started acknowledging what happened in a real way. I was carrying so much I had know idea. I read the book The Primal Wound and it blew me away. Unfortunately, my adoptive family mainly wanted to act like nothing happened and like I wasn’t different, but I am and it doesn’t have to be a negative thing. The differences need compasión and acknowledgement. You’re right adoption is both beautiful and traumatic. Everyone’s grieving process is so different. I love witnessing how much acknowledgement you give to each of your children’s complex growing identities. I cannot even imagine what it would have been like if my dad had tried to learn my native language. It is so healing ❤️‍🩹. Thanks again.

Lincoln is doing so good! Lincoln and mirrors are so sweet!! I can't imagine conducting "business" in an RV with so many kids! Maybe fresh air naps would be a great idea for him! Stephen took the words right out of my mouth, it amazes being being so small to see Amanda carry Lincoln-Strong mama! I have to give a shout out to Stephen-I think its super sweet that you remembered your dating anniversary date-most guys wouldn't! It really speaks to the love that the two of you share! I really respect you guys for the fact that you don't discuss your children's birth families and back stories. I am always stunned at the lack of respect and boundaries that people who only know you as an online presence, would expect you to talk about such personal things or they ask way to personal questions! I also feel like in today's world and social media that people OVERSHARE! I love that in Lincoln's adoption process you were able to see photos of him enjoying his first birthday! I have previously volunteered full time at our Childrens Aid (your dcfs) making life story scrapbooks (called Lifebooks) for foster kids and kids that were being adopted so that they know their life story! It was such a blessing and rewarding experience to get to watch the kids reaction to seeing/hearing about their stories! That clip at the end of Liam was precious!!

Steve, Amanda. GREAT chat. My children are from China & Korea. We also get this question very often. We also do not discuss our childrens bio family with outsiders. Many people who are not part of the adoptive fam community do not understand or realize how the question of: "So, where are their real parents?"( They ask this INFRONT of my children) comes across. The first time, my husband & I were SHOCKED!!! We did not know how to respond. Now, we simply reply: "the BIO parents are in their native country. Pls, we do not discuss this part of our lives. Especially, infront of our babies. I am looking forward to your podcast where more serious issues can be discussed. Thank you! :)

You are an amazing mom and you are so right to keep private, private! its really no ones business and I'm sure they wouldn't want to have any of their privacy exposed and they shouldn't even ask for those things, because it's none of our business.Yes some people out there will continue to do the unexpected etc.it's many lines that shouldn't be crossed but many will cross them and more, it's been our experiences that when people have said that it would be confidential or unanimous, etc.you can believe me when we say from what our experiences have been looking back etc. that it's not true in what they said or say, what wasn't supposed to go further than the one that was talked with etc.it was not confidential information etc.any more because they exposed what wasn't supposed to be done and that is always going on even today with everyone out there having their personal information exposed in different ways, I was at a rehabilitation hospital Dr's appointment and was given someone else's personal paper work and I had to take it back to them and tell them that they had given me someone else's, constantly in the news now for several months now it's been reported where personal information was sent to someone and they were not the first ones that had the info from that particular place, it seems like they have an ongoing issue in that place with them sending out other peoples personal information to the wrong people etc.nothing is private or secure any more because of the internet etc.I had been to a different one of my Drs and the internet was down for the time of appointment and they were not able to do any thing about it because they weren't able to pull up my medical chart and information etc. It's not the first time it's happened and won't be the last because it's happened more than that and at a different location and they probably should get back to not counting on the Internet for keeping everything because if I or any one else had a medical emergency problem and the internet was down person could die before they could get the help needed, especially when they have your information in only one place that they could not get excess to because of the internet being down and no longer having a regular chart etc.life is ever changing and not always for the best way, even though they have said that life would be easier etc for many people and things, they have caused many major problems for many around the world. We have been watching several KZbin channels and have been hearing about some of them having their things stolen etc.hate to say this but I don't trust anyone and what they say when they say that it's going to be confidential and that is so not true of what has been our experiences with it all, I don't want any one to go through the things that we have been through with the lies that are told by what they say when what they say is not always the truth and not always private, etc.Happy Mothers Day💐 to everyone and pray that everyone will be safe and well and hope that you all will never experience the loss of trust like we have in our lifetime and many times that we have tried to rebuild our trust in people etc. It's not always the best outcome for sure and prayers are things will be better one of these days etc.keeping everyone in our thoughts and prayers🙏 stay well and be safe out there for safety is big issue and nothing is private any more even when they say that they can keep it confidential. We pray that you both and your children have a better experience than we and many others have had with privacy etc.we enjoy watching you'lls beautiful/handsome family and agree with you all that you need to keep their things private from everyone, it's not our business and their experiences are their own to do with as they want etc.thanks for sharing the small parts of life adventure and such a great family.🙏🐦💝🐨🙏

I've seen all your adoption videos with the kids and remember how sad I was when I learned about Jude and Liam being sent from orphanage to orphanage which would not have only been very unsettling, but also it would have made them feel less secure and maybe not so protected. Also, their dialect was mixed up because they didn't always stay in the same local location. What was beautiful about that video was how sweet, humble and well behaved the boys were and when Jude gave those coins to someone, I think, that was begging through the taxi window. The world needs more people like that - people that truly care and have big hearts! As for family - it is what we make family to be whether blood related or not!

Adopted/ foster child/ children often want to forget the past and move on to the future especially those children whom are lucky to be adopted. Telling people why you adopted these kids and how come is best left private. These kids have rights and it’s between you and the children not something you broadcast. My ex husband and I adopted a boy with special needs who is In a host home. He loves it. We also did foster care for a few years. I’ve heard a lot. So privacy is best yes. You guys are doing such a great job with the children. You both are good loving parents. Great video.

Honestly, the thought never entered my mind. The way you both raised your children, I don’t see adoption? I see a beautiful family who makes me laugh, cry and truly appreciate God’s love! I can’t wait til Stephen ‘s book is out! I pre ordered and patiently waiting! It will be my beach vacation book read.

We have adopted and know exactly why some things should not be talked about your children. Adoption is not easy but well worth all the ups and downs. Your children are wonderful and is a reflection of you both. Love to all of you,

You are hands down doing the right thing! It's there story to share. You love your children and that's why you made this decision. Some that don't understand this do not understand how hard it would be for them later in life if you shared it. My husband was in foster care. We have been together for 20 years. Through the years he's shared about his parents but it was only recently that he shared the worst of it. He struggled only telling me. He would never want anyone else to know it. You see he is an amazing person and loved by many but he's still worried that he will be judged for his parents mistakes. You are doing the right thing. Love you guys

Your doing right thing. If the kids want to talk privately to u guys or amongst family about their parents - sure but it's not for us to know. You guys are the best parents for all the children, collectively and individually

I'm so pleased that you got your honoring not talking about their birth parents because there's something personal and private people that are asking should And if the kids wanna talk about it in the future is up to them but I'm so happy to know that they're loved and they're going really fast too

Stress and Covid has caused a lot of us to loose tons of hair. I was very distraught at first untill I found out that I quite a few people who have lost hair do to Covid! Good news, it grows back! I also have seen that. So be encouraged! I cut 4"" off mine because of that!!! We love each of you! ❤️

Oh I'm so happy to hear you say you will not talk about the children's background who came to your family through adoption. I've heard you say it several times before. But I support it. It's NONE of our business. It's your business. Thank you for doing the right thing.

I agree on the fact that you want them the kids to choose whether or not to tell their story about adoption as an adoptee I know it's hard not knowing your family but I was lucky enough to have loving family who wanted me and a family that wanted to adopt me you guys are amazing to love those kids unconditionally

You finding Linky's birthday photos 'by chance' 😭 I love that although they may not watch every vlog in which you sit and chat, the children will have them to look back on and know for certain that they are loved.
