I am blessed to live on a beautiful lake property my Granny bought 82 years ago. My house is on pilings...I literally can fish from my bedroom...lol I spent the day building floating wetland logbooms to help with the wave erosion of our shoreline...I have a blue Heron that comes hunting every morning...it's my coffee buddy. I live in the lake in the summer and love watching the seasons. We froze solid a few years ago and my siblings and I walked to the island in the middle of the lake. So blessed. Love your joy for life. Never take it for granted. Thank you Granny for our piece of paradise on Shawnigan Lake bc Canada.

Patreon/merch hopefully coming soon, maybe in the fall when our busy seasons at work die down haha. 🙏 Air temp this time of year is 80’s during the day, 60’s at night. Water temp is 82 right now (at swimming depths anyways). It definitely cools down in the winter with most nights around or below freezing, most days in the 40’s or low 50’s, water temps in the mid 50’s. 😌

I was in my mid-thirties the first time I had an opportunity to try water skiing. I got right up, moved around and bounced back and forth over the waves of the boat and had a BLAST. Spent a lot of time out there on the water. The next day I couldn't move my arms they hurt so bad!! 🤣 Growing up it was the "rich folk" who had speed boats, and we weren't that. I'm glad you're getting to enjoy these things when you're young. And adulting definitely ain't fun. You have to make fun where you can. Great message this week!!

Another awesome video guys! To walk out your front door and jump into your boat is such a gift. My wife and I live between the Delaware and Chesapeake bays and yes have to drive 30-45 minutes to launch our Sea Doo RXT300 then find a sand bar. Newly retired and almost 60 we hike, mountain bike, camp and water sports…just do it! When I see your video pop up I wait for a calm time to watch…thanks for sharing your adventurous lives.

I'm a fair bit older than you guys. When I started wakeboarding, the difference between wakeboarding and surfing was that for wakeboarding you needed a boat, and for surfing you had to go to an ocean beach with surf waves. Boat design has changed a bit, I think.

no, I live with a creek in my back yard so I don't have to go far to fish but I do like to go to different places to fish As far as hunting it is a 30-minute drive out of town in the rim country but most of 30 mins are over dirt road that you can't go over 5 miles an hour so to dirt the dirt is 15 minutes if that lol

I went wakeboarding (or attempted to) a couple of times as a teen because my best friend at the time’s parents owned a boat and all the wakeboarding gear and they invited me. I was never able to even stand up because the rope would be ripped out of my hands as soon as the boat started going (and I’d immediately be pulled up and over from backside to frontside). My teenage muscles were NOT strong enough for that sport and I don’t think my now-30-yr-old arms are much better lol Definitely interested in buying a paddle board and/or kayak though

It’s definitely a serious workout! very strengthening with all that resistance! Paddle boarding is so fun, definitely more relaxed and yet still great for your core, shoulders, etc. Dooo it! 🥰👏👏

What is a surf boat? How does it differentiate from any other boat?

It’s a boat that typically holds a massive amount of water (“ballast”) inside it, in our case 4500lbs, in order to weigh enough to create a surfable wave. There are also mechanisms that are built into the boat to allow the driver to change the shape of the wave to their liking, & choose which side of the boat the wave is on. Basically surf boats artificially create oceanic conditions so that landlocked folks can surf the perfect wave too.

Are there any floating cabins available for “fixer uppers “? Also, I saw something on TVA website that they aren’t allowing expansion of existing cabins or new construction. Is Fontana outside TVA authority? Thanks for the great videos!

The floating cabins don’t go on the market often, but when they do it’s usually on FB! not 100% sure if there are any for sale right this second. Fontana is a TVA lake. No more cabins can be added to the lake. We were able to rebuild because we removed an existing one & built one the same size in its place. Hope that helps clarify 🙂

I'm in the process of building a 28 foot pontoon cabin boat and would like more info on long term stays on Lake Fontana. Is boon docking allowed there? Is there a marina that would allow me to stay on my boat for 30-90 days at a time? Any insight is appreciated

You can tie up your boat anywhere on the lake and stay for up to 14 days. And as far as I know, our marina and the others on this lake (and mostly anywhere you go) have the 14 day rule as well, though it’s really completely up to the harbor master if they care to enforce that or not (many don’t care, if you’re being respectful & clean and all of course). The hardest part on this lake would probably just be getting a slip in the first place 🤔 there’s a pretty long wait list at our marina, not too sure about the others!

Unfortunately there is only 1 rental houseboat on the lake that I know of and it’s seasonal, not open for booking till may. But there are a ton of airbnb lake houses on land around the lake! So sorry to hear about your husband’s condition. Wishing y’all well 💙💙💙

Hey there! Happy you enjoy the videos! I see your viewpoint & would love to clarify why I share clips of my yoga practice on occasion. 🙂 yoga isn’t my religion, I could care less about what is or isn’t “hip”, & I certainly don’t share it in order to gain virtue haha. I share it for the exact same reason I share us cooking, or surfing, or taking the dog potty, or really anything/everything on this channel… because it’s a part of our daily life. We’re just here to share our lifestyle & experiences with others, not preaching nor asking for anyone’s approval. Apply the same principle you’re operating off of to all clips in this video: my hope with the cooking dinner clip, for example, is not for anyone to pat me on the back and say “look at her she cooked, what a great gal” hahaha. I share that because… uh.. we cooked dinner 😂 It was just another part of our day that day. Same thing with the yoga. & besides, exercise is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle, and I see no reason not share yoga, specifically, seeing as I also share us running, swimming, wakeboarding/surfing, going to the gym, hiking, etc. Doing all these things is a very important part of our real life (on and, more commonly, off camera) and our values, and they are all positive things that I am more than happy to continue including 10 seconds of here or there in order to help paint a realistic picture of how we spend our days. 🧘🏼‍♀️🤙😋🌊
