Cushcore Pro is great! I run it on a Specialized Kenevo with 2.6" Maxxis Assegai and DHRII. It adds great additional sidewall support. I haven't had one pinch flat, and haven't dented a rim since installing them. There is much less feeling of the tire wanting to roll to the side on high grip surfaces, and on off-camber take offs or landings. One time I was coming down a mountain trail with some rocky terrain, and I got a big slice in a rear tire. I couldn't get the tire off the rim because the sealant was dried like glue, and it was getting late, so I rode 10 miles down the mountain on a flat, and the rim sustained NO damage at all.

Hey Aaron! Glad to hear you're stoked on the CushCore! Nothing wrong with an insert lap, so surprising how well the bike rides with an insert and a flat tire! - Tor

Haven’t used cushcore but I’m liking the tannus tubeless amour. Easier install, way easier removal, lighter than a tube, still offers support, easier valve and sealant setups. Just seems a better design. I’d be curious to see you do a turn test with them to compare.

Do you think a cushcore insert would give a heavier rider enough support in the sidewalls to drop from a DD casing to an EXO/+?
@jeremyauzenne55372 жыл бұрын
I'm curious about this as well! Whole reason I watched this video..
@TheLostCo2 жыл бұрын
Good question! While there are certainly many variables to take into consideration, I would generally say YES. I usually run DD in the rear if I don't have a CushCore in there, but lately I've been rocking an EXO+ and CushCore around Bellingham where we don't have many sharp rocks. However, I'm always going to a DD & CushCore for North of the border in Canada where the terrain hates tires. -Mike

Well I probably run the toughest/ heaviest tire combo out there. Cushcore with michelin dh22. Definitely heavy, but at 240lbs I wouldn't want it any other way.

Nice work on this video! I run CC in the rear tire only. I was able to run EXO+ just fine with it, where previously had to run DD or DH casing to prevent flats.. And it feels better, more platted with the insert than without. Highly recommended product.

@Soso64bit2 жыл бұрын
@@Dude-Smellmyhelmet I don't rememver the last time I flatted a front tire.. seriously, its been probably 10+ years. And the weight distribution is around 90% on the back tire (depends on rider and conditions) but n my case I don't see the benefit of the CC in the front or any insert for that matter. I run EXO+ on the front and it's all good!

I used to run cushcore inserts with 8 psi front and 10 psi rear in the PNW wet and had mad traction on climbs and roots but could also smash descents with no worries. 25 psi at my weight would be crazy high. I can run 25 and have no issues without Cush core installed.

so, what type of rim tape and sealant do you guys use with cushcore? too much info out there and I guess I'll come to you guys for answers. I'm getting answers like rim tape with labels printed on it don't hold well with certain sealant as the fiber of the sealant will rub on the tape cause failure to the tape and causing clogged valves.

My top tip is to ignore the installation instructions. First put the tyre on the rim, then install the cushcore like you would a tube. That way one bead is already super tucked. I use old school toe straps to keep the tyre from creeping, but this new "tool" looks to do the same thing. My 2¢.
@michaelcawley74002 жыл бұрын
Cush core isn’t too bad for most rim setups although schwalbe tires and spank rims can make it nearly impossible some times

@nebnollock51982 жыл бұрын
Worth the weight if you keep on blowing up wheels, I am able to run a lighter casing in the rear which makes it pretty similar to other insert weights. Also run a hucknorris in the front to protect the tyre but I don't find dinging front wheels a problem so don't need cush core there.

I was disappointed here, thought those gadgets represented something that doesn't exist, but no. Getting a tire out is the huge pain in the ass that is associated with inserts like Pepi's and probably this one too. I need a tool that can help me do the inital push to separate the tire bead from the rim. That's all, once that's done it's easy, but doing that when the tools can't get in between the tire bead and the rim can be hell.

This has got to be staged. Dude easily and quickly takes a cushcore in and out on the trail?! They're incredibly hard to remove and install a tire when they're on. They also increase the weight of the wheel a ton! I used them and put them in the trash. I wouldn't be able to fix a flat with cushcore in the woods and the extra really weighs you down if you're racing or wanting to roll faster.
@torweiland17382 жыл бұрын
Hey man! No staging here, just brought a floor pump out there to reseat the tire once we took the cushcore out. They do definitely make the wheel a bit heavier but I race with them in the front and rear because I think the pros outweigh the cons!
