You should ride the Select and give it a good go. Most new Enduro bike under 4k come with the Select or a 38 Grip. No one really reviews the OE dampers and people want to know what they got or what their missing. Dude you're totally right, it gets a bit hard to judge what we're getting when everyone is reviewing almost always the top of the line stuff. I recently upgraded to an Enduro bike with the Zeb select and my god I have never ploughed through so much jank in my life with such ease! It's fairly plush and does reflect what Mike said that it isn't the most sensitive so you do occasionally feel it bounce (rarely, yet still tracks so well.) In my opinion the Zeb select works perfectly for anyone with more cash for a Zeb instead of domain and wants in on some really sensitive and plush ride feel.

Yes, once you've ridden a fork with separate LSC/HSC and learn how to use HSC you won't go back. I went from a RS 35 Gold (Domain's little brother) on my previous bike to a DVO Onyx SC on my current bike, night and day difference. The Motion control damper is very chattery over high speed chatter, braking bumps, etc. It also required constant messing with volume spacers to get big hit bottom out resistance and had no appreciable mid-stroke in any setting. The Onyx does everything well, without using volume spacers at all, the HSC works wonderfully for big hits, the LSC and OTT setting can be set up to give you both good small bump compliance and still resist fork dive, and the mid-stroke is exceptional. It rides better than any Grip 2 36 I've demoed, I've not ridden a RS Lyrik or Zeb to compare yet, nor have I been able to try a 38 yet.

Do a blind test with domain vs zeb, cover the stickers and see if riders can guess what fork. Also would you rather have a nice 35mm fork or a domain?
@TheLostCo2 жыл бұрын
That would be a fun video!! Concerning your question, personally it mostly depends on the riding application as opposed to comparing a "nicer" fork or not. For example, if I am headed out to ride some gnarly lines, hit some larger drops, ride fast over rooty or rocky terrain, I am grabbing that Domain 10 times out of 10. If I am headed going for a longer pedal, or more of trail ride with less "aggressive" terrain, then I'll grab the Lyrik. That's not to say that 35mm forks can't handle gnarlier terrain, it's just that the Domain does it better and will be more forgiving.

Putting charger dampener in the Domain, if you have one is a cheaper upgrade than a new fork and trying to sell the Domain. @@ryansmith7974 One really big difference between my Domain and Zeb is the bushing stiction though. @martonpeintlerkrivan80272 жыл бұрын
That’s a downgrade… fox dampers are miles ahead of RS motion control. The Domain is just a thicker Yari with the same decade old damper rockshox has been using for way too long. My Yari was horrible on braking bumps and big hits because the damper was just not advanced enough (despite being serviced regularly). Then I got a fox 36 performance and its way better and smoother, though maybe a bit less plush, which gives it a lot more confidence to go faster. The problem was never the stanchion size, it’s the shit damper. It’s just a trend to go thicker even though it’s heavier, has more stiction, and makes forks unnecessarily stiff.
@rubenvor2 жыл бұрын
@@martonpeintlerkrivan8027 you are probably right about all that. But at what cost? Double the price? And as per the video, it doesn't seem to be the case of what you are saying. So who should I belive? A shop that handles both brands (fox and rs) or some guy commenting on a YT video?

Hi there, would you recommend a ZEB to a rider who weighs only 53kg? Or is it „too“ stiff and I should stay with my Lyrik? Cheers
@TheLostCo2 жыл бұрын
Great question! With out knowing too much more, I think the Lyrik would be sufficient for you. If you are riding very aggressive (hitting big drops, jumps, fast and chunky terrain) then I might suggest you consider the ZEB. It also depends on your bike and travel as well. If you would like to chat further, give us a call, shoot us an email, or reach out on the live chat on our website. (360) 306-8827 // sales@thelostco.com

I have a question. I wanna build my own downhill bike i allready know what parts i wanna have. The problem is i live in Croatia and we dont have as much options. Is there any online bike builder with many parts like fox 40, magura brakes, trek, yeti, nukeproof, specialazed and other frames, and other well known bike parts, that i could use or any place or shop where i can buy a propper mtb bike? I would like to do my purchase online so that everything comes to my place. For those who wanna know, i have a bergamont hardtail and have been using a cube all suspension enduro bike. I just need to know how u guys get bikes and parts.

Unfortunately due to duties and import shenanigans, we are keeping it local to the US. We hope to be able to expand our giveaways in the future!

Burly 38 inch fork and a light sidewall tire ???? That rider might be ok with a pike.
@mrvwbug44232 жыл бұрын
PNW is not as hard on tires as you'd think. Also skinny rider with good line choices can get away with EXO where a bigger rider who just monster trucks would want EXO+ or DD.

Sounds like the rockshox 35 all over again. Worst fork I’ve had the displeasure of riding. If you can’t afford a 38mm fork just buy a better thinner one.

Sadly you dont shipp to mexico
@TheLostCo2 жыл бұрын
We do, but some manufacturers (including RockShox) do not allow their vendors to ship out of their country.

The motion control damper (at least in my yari) totally sucks even my 2017 pike rct3 feels a lot better. Thats why i put the 2.1 charger rc2 into the yari day and night difference

I think its just a money grab with all the new names for fork models. Hearing "select model" makes me think of base model cars with hand crank windows.

Unless you get paid to race bikes, or compete against those who do get paid, a charger R damper is all you need. 99% of riders would be better off if they just focused on spring rate and rebound

LMAO no. You need compression adjustment

For a sub 200lb rider you're probably right, the default HSC tuning on the R is probably enough. For a 200+lb rider who gets sendy, you REALLY want that HSC setting.
