I’m becoming a fan of the w210 body style. Unfortunately I don’t have a e55, I have a e320”sport”. Where the amg badges are, there are sport badges. But it came factory with the amg body kit, amg wheels, factory navigation, and all the bells and whistles that can be offered in that model. I enjoy the comfort and smoothness of it. I just wish it was a e55.

320 not a bad car and today performance is not that important in old mercs becasue w210 has this wonderful feel to it so enjoy your 320 with all bells and whistles ibet you have great lethar smell and real wood ) What is milage in yours ?

I’m struggling to understand why someone would go through all the effort to swap all of the E55 parts into this car. They did an amazing job, it just seems like it would be more trouble than it’s worth.

Some countries it’s forbidden to import older cars, and the real 55s would be very rare and expensive. Best idea is to get a normal w210 and swap e55 parts from a scrapper imported from another country illegally.

tax for importing cars with big engines are huge so it is easier to swap

Great video! Maybe my next car will be an old E55. Easier to find a lower mileage E55 than another E430. More money but worth every penny if it's a low-mileage, good example. I'd rather spend $15-20k on a good, low miles w210 than anything newer than 2002. I don't like them after that. Maybe I'm too old. But I think they were just perfect back then.

I found my final production year (2002) w210 e55 in obsidian black is super reliable and surprisingly cheap to maintain, probably because I do all the work by myself, so free labour :-). I already own it for 6 years or so and on average it only takes me around 400 dollars annually to maintain and fix stuff, it's more reliable, cheaper also easier to DIY compare to our 2013 honda odyssey...These car basically runs forever if they were properly cared by their owners. Not to mention the gangster looking and the fact that most of them were already rust out in canada, all those makes it a really cool and rare vehicle to have.

@@snggarageeng Yeah, not bad at all, spend a bit more in first year ownership (around 800cad) to tune up everything and fixing the broken stuff, but after that, it as reliable as a old horse. I live in Alberta, Canada, as far as I can tell, there is no rust on external panel, neither the body underneath. This car spend most of it's life in California, and I never driven it in winter during my ownership.

Great Video. I keep my E55 completely original. I only take it out every once in a while for a drive on the highway. You can easily beat these new cars like standard Porsche 911, Audi SQ5 etc. and it runs easily to 250 km/h (limited). Maintenance ist expensive and I had to change the Differential and almost every part of the air conditioning and much more. But I have gone too far to stop now.
