I got emotional watching this. I’m first generation born and raised here in the USA. Watching the both of you be so vulnerable and transparent gave me a bigger appreciation for the sacrifices my family made over 50 years ago to move here. Thank you! All the best to you and I’ll be right here following along on your journey.

Watching your story bought me tears, thinking of my parents making that move to NZ from Samoa in the early 70's having no written or English speaking at all. Thank you for sharing.

Didn't want to miss a word of what chef was saying, I had to watch this vedio over twice due to the subtitles going by so fast. It takes a strong man to make that move to relocate his family, where speaking reading and writing in english had to have brought on some serious anxiety but you persevered went through every roadblock and it all paid off at the end. This has got to be my favorite vedio of your family. ❤❤

I am emotional and grateful at the same time for you both sharing your Story. My mother is from Vailoa Palauli she left when she was 18 years of Age to come to America. It was extremely tough for her especially leaving her Father & Mother behind and all her siblings but, she wanted something much more for her future and she knew that staying in Samoa she couldn’t have what she wanted or needed. Although she was Single and had no kids when she left but she gave Birth to 4-girls in the US and worked tremendously Hard to have a roof over our Heads especially being a Single parent. She has given so much to us and I commend her for it all, my siblings are all grown now and doing our own things. I commend you both on taking that leap of Faith & trusting the Lord through the Process because it is not Easy. But, Thank God for being in the Midst because without him nothing is impossible and to see the blessings pour over your Family is the Greatest Gift that God can Provide. We love You Guys❤️❤️

It’s simple, you wanted a better life for your children! You wanted to give them a chance at a good future! My mom did the same thing for me and my siblings. She moved us out of American Samoa to the mainland where we would have a chance at a brighter future. 30 years later my siblings and I all have established careers and our own families. My parents made a hard decision back then but it paid off and I will be forever grateful for them! Great video! Sending much alofa to you and your family!

Thank you Rita and Chef for sharing another beautiful video. Fa’afetai mo le mea’ai! ❤❤😂😂. I think your reason for relocating your family is no different from anyone else. Whether moving here to the states, Australia, New Zealand or any other country that yields better opportunities and greater advancements for our families. It’s never easy looking back and remembering the heartaches from separation and sacrifices made in order to start anew. But see the results of your decisions through your children, then you’ll remember and know that God order your steps. Alofa atu mo oulua ma le fanau! ❤❤❤❤❤

😪😪😭😭🤧 awwww love you Rita & Chef..💞💋💋 The early struggles of building a family foundation is challenging. Such as the decision making in uprooting one's family to a whole new world. I applaud you both for making that sacrifice, whether it was to sink or swim, but you put your faith in the Lord and had the courage to step out of your comfort zones to change and improve for the betterment of your childrens future. "Malo le tauivi ma le taumafai"👏👏I feel your emotions and I have cried and laughed along listening to your story of "Coming to America; the land of milk & honey" 😂 e aoga Americana mo le au galulue, but not for the au pai'ee.👍 And for you Chef, your a man of honor. A man with purpose in his life, who supports, love, protect and provide for his family. And let me not forget Rita🙎♀...There is no greater love, than the love of a wife/mother who makes sacrifices and gives her all for the benefit of her husband and children.👨👨👧👧👩👩👧👦..Chef, we all have "fear" in us. Fear of the unknown....but we don't allow it to stop us. See, you conquered your fear Chef and filled out your papers correctly on the plane✈YOU made it!!!! haha😂You're living the American Dream!!!! Cheeeeeehuuuuuuuu!!!!🙌🙌....Loved the vlog guys and I can't wait for PART 2!!❤💕..alofa atu!

Your wife and you made a lot of sacrifices to come to America. My Dad did the same thing when he joined the US Navy and helped his family in his home country. I understand the sacrifices! But he grew up on a farm. It’s hard to leave your home where you grew up. But now that your kids are older they understand what you did for them. Last year I subscribed because I liked watching Rona cook and your family BBQs. Now Rona is married and in the Army like her two brothers and her husband. But I still enjoy watching the old videos to catch up. Now I am excited to see where you all will move to. Hopefully it is somewhere where Chef can relax and work on his health. But I am glad you are here so we can watch all the family grow up and I love all the cooking. Please take care everyone!

Your story is fascinating. I'm part of your story because I grew up in Savaii where my family economy mostly relied upon selling crops. It was so hard to grow up in a place with limited employment because you couldn't sell your agricultural produce without the locals' money to buy your crops. Your reason for moving from the island to overseas is the same as me and my family. My children's education is the priority. Anyway, Chef, you got a big heart when you made a good decision for the benefit of you and your family. Fai mai lesi koeiga, o kakou o le go to luma no more koe foi I kua,,,
