I agree completely. Watching through your videos this week has really made me understand why I keep playing the PS2 era football games like Madden 06 and 2K5. For a long time I thought I was missing something when I would try out Madden 20. That the game was maybe just more complicated and that's why I didn't enjoy as much. But no, they're just poorly made games. Hopefully an XFL game could remind everyone why those mid-00s NFL games were so fun in the first place. The league itself also seems promising, I had a good time watching the first few games

BenjiDolja idk man. Wwe 2k20 was a blunder. The 1st game could be great but I'm sure mcmahon will want that annual release schedule. If they did what activision does with the call of duty series with multiple development teams alternating annual releases (allowing each team 2 years per respective release), it would be more efficient. Say what you want about agressive microtransactions (i haven't bought a cod game since the original black ops) but mechanically, the games are sound. No bugs, glitches, etc. Or little, if any.

vikwingx that's whassup. I'm not a big fan of football. Never purchased a madden game in my life (i loved blitz). However, i advocate for worker's rights and consumer awareness. Crunch culture is bad for both the worker and consumer because so much pressure in very little time is put on the development team to release a quality game. Then the consumer buys a rushed garbage product because they don't follow the development schedule or wait for reviews, etc. At any rate, madden could use some competition. Some of the best wrestling games came out in the late 90s because WCW was a viable threat to the WWF.

Still 2k & WWE fault for not being transparent about issues in the game from release, but should be noted as a reason for the incompetence of the game from rush development to little to no play tests.

Аяcнøп I agree to an extent. I’ve been playing 2k since the Dreamcast so I’ve felt the shift over the years. 2k20 isn’t the greatest game (I’d give 2k11 and 2k16 the tie for that). I’d say 2k19 is a better overall game than 20, with 20 having park rep and removable/customizable badges in my career being the only redeeming quality. But the 2k basketball games have a far better franchise/my league mode than madden ever had and will ever have. Everything from logos, colors, relocations, expansions, custom rosters, custom sliders for everything and every game mode, cyberfaces, mods. You can reskin the entire game to have ESPN, TNT, FOX, etc. presentation. You can turn NBA 2k back into college hoops 2k. Honestly, in my opinion, a lot of the flack that 2k gets is from my team and my career/park, but if you experiment with my league, it can take your mind off the my career. Especially if you play an online my league with friends and you can turn it into an online competitive my career.

Been watching your vids for a while (love the channel) and it seems that every sports genre has regressed in quality since the PS2 era. Honestly I think the best sports game available now is the Codemasters Formula 1 games. Deep career mode featuring car development, contract negotiations, great gameplay, can be played like a sim OR an arcade racer, no micro transactions in offline modes, etc. But its a niche market, at least here in the United States. I have The Show 19 since it was free on PSPlus a while ago and it seems alright. I've only played RTTS so far. Its fine but pretty repetitive. I picked up 2K19 when it was like $3 during the holidays but still haven't played it, but it sounds pretty good. It's just sad that games have gotten WORSE even though the technology keeps getting better.

EA Sports lacks a franchise mode and instead of having a create-a-team it has an option to relocate a team with the SAME cities (aside of San Diego and St. Louis), team names, uniforms, and stadiums. It's so lame. And Madden's Ultimate Team is a waste of time and the team you have from the previous game does NOT save other which is also a waste of money.

MyGM Mode in 2k is broken as hell lol Sure it's the best out of what we have, but it's still bad. You can't even make an actual successful franchise in it because it will send you into vast -2billion dollar profit loss. 2k does have the presentation down tho, I'll give you that. The gameplay is spot on

I would make a follow up video pumping the brakes a bit if I were you. If there's a made-from-scratch XFL game released in the next couple years, I'd expect it to be glitchy with limited features with gameplay no better than Madden. The potential is there, but you're setting high expectations for a game that would probably need a few years to get where we want it. Then again, my expectations could be too low after years of being disappointed by Madden. If they do make a game, I'll buy whatever they offer

Imo, there should be a myplayer type mode (similar to 2k) where u can make a specific player and go to a public field to play modes such as 7on7, Rb vs Lb, Wr vs Cb, QB drills, etc. I think that this idea would blow Madden out of the water.

They need to bring back the fight for the fumble feature back. Yes it’s not a fix to how bad animations are after a player fumbles, but at least it’s better than what we have. I personally enjoyed mashing buttons and competing for the recovery.

The franchise mode should have players who are good or improved go to the “league” Bc they probably can’t say NFL(for legal reasons) it would be kinda like the player “retire” like in madden but in this case it could say “your player decided to take his talents to the next level” and you can pay him 2x or convince him to stay. It would add balance to the franchise mode

We need this!!!! Definitely create teams and stadiums give us a list of stadiums to choose from like 8 or more custom uniforms custom players. A play only mode doesn’t have to come from college but I would be ok if there wasn’t a story mode we need this
