What has this got to do with sentience? He's not talking about sentience. He didn't even mention the word or make any reference to it in any way. lol All he's talking about INTELLIGENCE, NOT SENTIENCE. Someone needs to have their ears cleaned out. lol

levels of intelligence too ANI - NARROW INTELLIGENCE AGI - GENERAL INTELLIGENCE ASI - SUPER INTELLIGENCE Personally sentient isnt a thing...just extra creativity from generative patterns. we are sentient or just high pattern matchers using creativity? humans aren't special

People in this thread don't know the reason why he is saying this. AI is impressive but only in a superficial way. None of these large lamguage models are producing anything like humans. When they fail, more complex algorithms are thrown in to fix issues, but then those systems eventually fail. All AI is doing is mimicing human aesthetic, but it can never grasp things like paradoxes because the AI's structures in no way represent infinity. Near infinity is a meaningless satatment. Couldn't even be further from what infinity actually is. Human creativity is limiletless. There is something about the brain's structure that enables humams to be infinitely creative and we don't even have a clue to understanding it. Making prompt-based AI that only shows off its flashy tricks is just play science since there are so many ill-informed ideas of what intelligence is in the first place.
