@@Mythraeziawe don’t “earn” 50K a month. We cover 80% of the costs we have for production with 50K on Patreon, the rest comes from members on the site and from KZbin. That’s not money that ends up in Indy’s, Astrid’s, and my pockets - that’s money that goes to pay the costs of living for the 20 people that work on this, our archive material, IT equipment, software, studios, camera and sound equipment, lights, research costs etc etc - it’s actually very, very little by media production standards. Everyone at TimeGhost, we included work for payment that is far below industry averages - we’re not in it for the money, and if we were we’d be pretty foolish; you don’t get rich making educational content. We do have to eat and have roofs over our heads though…

I can't quite put into words just how much respect I have for your stance on this. It's gotten to the point now where even on KZbin certain history channels have to censor names, because apparently learning about history is bad. Corporate censorship is getting out of control, and as far as I'm concerned, trying to destroy our knowledge of history is downright tyrannical. For the sake of all of Humanity, we need our history. One of my favorite cooking themed KZbinrs did a video that was useful in a sense, but also an infomercial for a company which is expanding from its standard core business into making cooking equipment. Their products are 2-3x the price of comparable products by competitors. Makes me wonder how many people will buy the product without doing their research and realizing how overpriced the product line is.

I’m not prone to criticizing our colleagues in public, but I must take issue with such a blanket stamp of approval. Don’t get me wrong, he produces great stuff, but it’s not always up to academic standards of accuracy, and at times sensational to the point of inaccuracy. It’s the focus on sensational pop history that makes it attractive to advertisers - sensationalism generates loads of views. Sponsors will happily look the other way if their fears of controversy at leveraged by high volumes of viewers. We’re deliberately staying clear of such things.

Feck the algorithm. Lazy corporate hacks rely on them. People should be willing to take the time to come up with a concise analysis and conclusion, rather than coming up with a computerized excuse for their own prejudices and fantasies. I was in information technology for 40+ years, and it has all come down to generating charts and graphs that agree with mis-manager's own beliefs - as opposed to taking the time to produce a theory supported by facts and actual human behavior. Anything to support mis-management's greed and misplaced exceptionalism.
