For what you do and where you go makes absolute sense as to why you sold the Raptor 🔥. That Wildtrak V6 is absolute beauty and you’ll love it 👌🏾

I know this spot! Just outside Hillcrest, close to Shongweni. Made me notice your video, I've been up there with our previous Amarok 4x2 and now 2011 Rav4....lekker man! Great looking Ranger!🔥

Thats not bad at all! If Ford put the same Wildtrak v6 in the raptor that would work really well!

Say, you didn’t have a canopy and towed a smaller trailer ( Genie or Bowhunter ) would it work with the 140 L tank?? I’m still sold on this Raptor especially because I’ll be mostly travelling solo. I don’t know.
@EpicAfricaАй бұрын
I think in your case it would work fine and would be better on fuel with less weight and a smaller trailer.

Thank you for this review. I am also going to change my raptor and go for the Wildtrak X. As much As I love my Raptor the fuel economy is on the top side

Thanks for the comment, the Raptor was amazing but economy won in the end!

Did you end up losing a lot depreciation wise? The raptor seems to hold value well, keen to hear your feedback
@EpicAfrica6 ай бұрын
Ford ended up giving me back what I paid for the car and I got to take everything off so I really didn't lose much, if anything. They are holding their value very well..

Hi, Which one do you recommend, XLT's BI TURBO 4*4 or Wildtrak's BI TURBO 4*4?
@EpicAfrica4 ай бұрын
If I was getting the 2L Bi Turbo then I would stick with the XLT, its a bit cheaper. The only reason I got the Wildtrak is because it was the only version with the V6

Busy buying a raptor. Fuel economy is definitely a concern but I wouldn't be towing much or adding a canopy/extra gear again. Have a conqueror compact trailer about 1 ton loaded, we dont do any overlanding or extreme remote trips. Furthest is the JHB to Kruger towing really. Do you recon fuel econ would be fine or drastically more that what im getting now at 13.5 when towing with my single turbo 2l ranger? Hoping to get at least 16
@EpicAfricaКүн бұрын
Yes I think the raptor will be fine for your application but you can expect to see around 18L/100KM when towing, maybe even more. Around town mine would sit between 14 and 15L per 100
@danievanwyk59933 ай бұрын
I want to put a conopy (90kg) on my Raptor & drawers (92kg) - my only concern is for the back to sag to much? As I can see on your video your back did not sag that much.
@samuel709113 ай бұрын
Payload of the raptor is around 650KG. It’s definitely going to sag the more weight you put.
@EpicAfrica3 ай бұрын
I fitted 100-300kg coils at the rear and that worked very well with all the weight I carry on a long trip, including a 1T trailer so if you just doing canopy and drawers and dont plan to tow then look at maybe just a 100-200kg from turain taimer. www.terraintamer.com/4wd-products/suspension/smart-coils

Where did you get your towbar? Or at least the removable part? I also tow a BL and find the standard tow hitch a bit low due to the standard Ford drop plate. Thank you in advance! Love the channel!

Hi Jason, wildtrak V6 is the best choice. Got one myself and in the process of refitting for overlanding + towing. Same Black Tremor wheels with +40 offset instead of standard Ford +55 wheels. Waiting for "latest" OME rear suspension kit with parabolic leaf springs with AIR BAG helpers. Q on your rockslider choice. Why not the wildog version....because it didn't fit? Groeten Willem
@EpicAfrica3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I tried to fit the wildog slider because I had them on my last ranger but they didnt fit correctly and when I asked them and said there must be a problem I was told "thats how they fit" so I decided not to just accept it and sent them back. The Gobi X fit 100% and look great so im happy.
@willemdekant25223 ай бұрын
@@EpicAfrica Thanks for your reply Jason. Was it the wildog slider from your 23 raptor that you wanted to use on the new wildtrak? Or a brand new one for the next gen WILDTRAK that didn't fit properly? Just want to make 100% sure before I order one myself😅
@EpicAfrica15 күн бұрын
It was a completely new rock slider from wildog that was made for the new ranger so it should have fitted but it wasn't correct!

I am keen to get a Ranger V6 myself, so keen to hear more. Would you be able to share how Ford view the changes and how it affects warranty? Just thinking of additional fuel filter and catch can. How have you found the fuel consumption?
@EpicAfrica5 ай бұрын
I’m happy with the consumption so far, it’s around the same as my old 3.2 at 13l/100km around town and 16.5l/100 towing. The raptor was like 5L more towing. So for warranty all the ARB stuff is fine and so is the canopy. They all Ford approved. The bumpers I’m fitting (HAMER) won’t be but the only ones that are is again the ARB but I really don’t like them. Bumpers can come off if you really have a major problem. I always keep the factory ones and it isn’t a cut so they can go back on.

It’s very similar on the road but off road the old and new raptor is better, you just can’t beat the rear coil and the fox suspension is so good!
