WHY we travel by SAILBOAT | Sailing Martinique | 97 | Beau and Brandy Sailing
There is nothing else that we love more than picking up anchor to travel to a new spot to discover what it has in store for us there. We are always surprised about all the different things we have seen so far in this sailing life. The underwater life, the hiking, the sailing, the people, the new friends. Each anchorage brings something new. Could we experience this if we were just taking a plane to these places? Sometimes we can only reach the places we do by the boat.
This episode we visit Anse dufour and Anse Noir, we dive and and explore underwater and the black sand beaches. We pick up anchor and have a sporty sail into Fort de France and are welcomed by a local parade.

First off, that opening shot of you two heeling hard was world class. Beau get's the gold star for the cheese ice pack and then eating it afterwards...hilarious. Beau, you said you are having no luck with the fishing...I might have a solution. I don't know your handline rig but setting it up right might change your fish problem. When you're underway, have you noticed that your boat leaves a wake of bubbles behind it. Remember that because it's going to help you catch fish. That wake of bubbles looks a lot like a ball of bait fish to larger fish. So, let's play it for what it's worth. On your handline, you're going to tie a "teasers". Teasers get the fishes attention. You can buy them or make your own. Basically, it's a lure without the hook. What it does is dance in the bubble field and get's fish's attention to your line. You can buy them ready made or make your own. Take a 4 inch section of Brandy's broom when she's not looking and drill a small diameter hole through the center down it's length. Strong wire twisted into an eye on each end will keep it secure. If you want more action, then drill across the wood and insert smaller dowel or even more wire that you can secure a couple of shiny spoons to. Now, run your handline through the length and knot about a foot from the end. Attach a strong leader and your lure now. How to fish with it is simple. Remember your wake bubbles....you want to let your line out until that teaser is dancing at the very end of the bubble wake. Now it's looking like another fish in the bubble, "bait ball" field. Fish will check it out and when they realize it's not something good to eat, fall off further down your line where....lo and behold...there's something that looks like it might be good to eat. If you want, you can put a couple of those teasers on the line...more action never hurts...you just have to get the fish's attention. Hope that helps and good fishing. Finally....thanks again for entertaining us with your adventures. You never disappoint.

We have an idea of when we would LIKE to move, but since we are an electric sailboat, we have to heavily rely on the winds and weather. The only schedule we have is that we are meeting family in March in Puerto Rico, so we have to be careful and make distance when the opportunity is there.
