cathy b Hi. I think the first thing you should ask yourself is why you want to wait. If your answer is because you want to honour God, then you have to talk to your boyfriend about it. He is trying to play on your emotions about him in pain so you can give in. You will still be a virgin if you perform oral sex. But the question is do you want to be a virgin to just be a virgin? Or is the aim to honour God. I've been tempted like you too & almost manipulated too. But you have to sit down and think of the reason you are keeping yourself. It is not because of your husband nor is it because you are trying to give him a special gift on your wedding night because he deserves it. No! you are keeping yourself because God wants you to keep your body pure. He dwells in you and you are His temple. Please sit with your boyfriend and talk to him. But be ready to let him go too, because your conversation can go either way. If he insists on being physical with you and wants to breakup with you please let him. It will be difficult, you will cry, but you will get over it (I went through that) and God will send you someone who will love you and believe in what you believe in. God loves you Cathy and He only wants the best for you. Don't settle for second best. I hope I have been able to help.

Thanks for the advice Spark, we've had the in depth conversation about my decision and he understands and respects my reasons, he even says he regrets losing his virginity. I was worried that he may look elsewhere and gave him many chances to leave but he said he is devoted to our relationship and wouldn't risk what we have. I also shared this video with him too.

No shame to say that I'm a virgin and I'm single and a woman and follower of Christ and God has been restoring my view on intimacy in marriage and even though sex has never really been a desire or temptation in my life, I had a warped and corrupt view about it because all I've seen and heard has just been gross, dirty and perverted and because of that, I've even HATED sex and the existence of it and only ONE video and it's Dan Mohler's video of the teaching of sex that really opened my eyes to now see that it can be pure, it can be beautiful and it can be HOLY! I don't know if God will ever send anyone my way to be my future husband but I know that God will send me someone with the same views and understanding on the subject. God has made me very content and secure in Him as a single woman and He's still shaping me and molding me and growing me every day and dying to self is a must during this season of my life that I'm in now. I agree with all you shared and grateful for Christ centered couples as yourselves to share the truth HIS truth without fear or shame or compromise. Keep it up. And check out Dan Mohler's videos on the subject of sex. It's an eye opener.

You might not agree, might yet need to come to the point where you agree, or took it as is. God's word stands, as it does with other teachings in the scripture that the world says differently. God's word stands. The reasons you listed are some of the reasons that God knows already, hence the read on for the teaching. God loves us , and all that is written is for our protection. There is no need to try stuff out and come to the truth after much pain and emotional distress. The bible tells us it is better to obey than to sacrifice. As A hearer and doer of the Word of God, the Holy Spirit gives us the grace to do all things through Christ. Thanx for sharing
