I don’t miss: 1. Bundle up to “pre-shovel” the driveway. 2. Go back in remove half of layers to coffee up. 3. Return outside to actually shovel the driveway. 4. Go back in remove half of layers to coffee-up. 5. Get dressed to start the car and run the defrost, scrape windshield. 6. Go back in, remove outer layer and grab coffee for drive. 7. Prepare to leave and realize the snowplows just buried your driveway: time to shovel for the third time and the sun isn’t even out yet.

Snow drove me out of NY. One things I promised myself is that I would live somewhere without snow after growing up there.

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog , my 1st winter in FL (Dec’85) it snowed in SW Florida: melted before it hit the ground but snow 100 miles south of Tampa. Brownout for 3 days, most homes had window unit AC or HVAC w/o heat option. Luckily our first home here had a fireplace and the adjoining overgrown field needed pruning. 34F windchill this morning at sunrise; more ahead.

I love Central American winters, but I'd never say that summers here in the Ithaca/Finger Lakes region of NY are uncomfortably hot. We rarely pull the AC unit out of the shed in the summer. Well placed shade trees and not living in the concrete city do the trick. Winter in Mexico or Central America and summers here in NYS are the best of both worlds.

Hey Scott Is there still a bar in Leon where you can listen to rock music? Thank you!

lol. Is there a bar where you can't? There's live rock music every night of the week, normally several places. Via Via, El Simple, Desperados, Antorches, Geckos, El Vivero and loads of others.

@ScottAlanMillerVlog Very good. I decided to check with you because the locals told me that rock was banned a few months ... And yes, did check on Google and found a few palatable bands !

Winter in NYS is half the year? Nope. Perhaps a third at most, often less.

Snow alone, let alone freezing conditions, can be from mid-October to mid-May. That's seven months of the year with the potential for full on snowing winter conditions. I remember trick or treating in heavy snow in Geneseo, and getting out of the school year with snow having just stopped. No year hits seven months, it either starts early or ends late but not both. But close to six months of winter was pretty common my whole life.
