Wenger was too polite and kept things in house. The board starved him year after year and he needed to come out and say that rather than papering over the cracks. He was living off scraps. Then the board he protected knifed him and let him be the focus of anger. Wenger was at fault also for just never having the spine to say it like it was.

It wasn’t Arsene’s decision to move to the Emirates- his love is Highbury, as it is for a lot of us. He had no choice, and neither did we. To do that, the club didn’t have the money to move AND keep buying top players- we were forced to sell good players and buy average or worse. And the finance being offered had strings- the financial institutions demanded Wenger stay on. He did his best. Yes, I accept that as the weight of that got more, he tried to do it all himself, and needed help, but the board were too weak and spineless to give him the help despite his wishes. But we STILL won more in the bad years Spuds did and we still have some incredible memories that can never be taken away. More than 99% of clubs. We’ve won precious little under Arteta, in what, 3 years?, so let’s just see shall we.

Two things here. Wenger pulled this club up to be amongst the best with incredible football - that's the first 7 years. He then spent the rest of his time whinging wining whilst taking us into the shit where we stayed for years. He invented the 'Arsenal soft bottling underbelly' from which we've up to the last few games of last season never really recovered. He was great but then he was total shite. That's 'real' talk.

Wenger had his faults, but he transformed football in this country you muppet. Even Sir Alex Ferguson acknowledges that, and he still won more trophies than a lot of other clubs and managers. When’s the last time Tottenham won the league?….It also took decades for Liverpool to win the league again.

Most managers were only mere mortals to Wenger as Martin O'Neill once said. I always felt it seemed like he was happy enough with his successes between 2002 to 2005, especially the unbeaten run in the league and almost as if he winded right down after those years and tenure as Arsenal manager.

As much as I love wenger I dont care if he is hurt because he left arsenal or didnt get a job upstairs. Imagine how us fans felt paying for overpriced tickets, not winning anything in 8 years, getting Smoked and humiliated by the bigger teams, seeing star players leave for your rivals, saying 4th is a trophy when we are meant to be one of the biggest clubs in the world, yaya fucking sanogo etc He was the most paid manager in the league as well, if he wants to throw a tantrum then dont give him a statue
