Who are we to reproach or cast out demons? Jesus didn’t command the angels to cast out demons, but He did to His disciples. He didn’t give His spirit to the angels, but He did His disciples. “For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself."”Acts 2:39 and the promise is for EVERYONE to receive the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and worked miracles and casted out demons and healed the sick and prophesied. Who are we? Nobody in ourselves, but in the Holy Spirit we are clothed in Christ. And the demons flee in the name of Jesus, just as the Bible says they do.

Moses and Elijah were not really on the mountain with Jesus, Peter, James and John, it was a vision, Christ himself tells us this, he has miracle working power and is able to manifest anything he wants at any time, that's why he's called "the Almighty" (Rev. 1:8) *Matthew 17:9 (KJV)* And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell *the vision* to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
@metorphoric2 жыл бұрын
@@Joel-Serra I've heard this interpretation of the transfiguration. This could be a "vision" but I am not convinced. The word "vision" in Hebrew can mean sight or evidence. Matthew 17:2 states that Jesus was "transfigured before them" in the presence of Peter, James and John. Transfigured is a verb signifying an action or past action. Matthew 17:4 even tells us that the disciples are "seeing" the transfiguration as Peter suggest building separate tents for Jesus, Moses and Elijah. Peter goes as far to say that their presence of the event is "good". If this was just a vision, why would this be Peters response? Finally in verse 10, in response to Jesus forbidding them from sharing what they have just witnessed, they are confused as they believe they've just witnessed the second coming of Elijah. Why wouldn't they share this news of old testament prophesy? Jesus tells them that Elijah that was prophesied was John the Baptist. So I must disagree with the interpretation that the word "vision" in this context meaning a type of higher wisdom moment but rather, physically encounter.

And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. Once again, the word "vision" here is _horama_ in the Greek. does this mean Cornelius is having a physical encounter with an angel of God? these are divinely-inspired supernatural visions that these men are "seeing" within their hearts and within their minds. *John 12:45* He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. Have you or I ever "seen" Christ or the Father? Of course not, we have never seen them with our physical eyes, but we believe and we have faith because we have "seen" them with our "spiritual" eyes. *Ephesians 1:18* The *eyes of your understanding* being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. *John 20:29* Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. @@suzannehartmann946 No where in Ephesians 6 are Christians instructed to address the enemy. All of the armor listed in this chapter for the believer's benefit are DEFENSIVE for the purpose of warding off and quenching the enemy's attacks. The only OFFENSIVE weapon is the Word of God, which is also used as a DEFENSIVE weapon. In the Greek, the word used for "sword" is a small weapon -- about 6''-18'' long that was used back in the times of Jesus. The word of God is used both defensively to fend off Satan’s attacks, and offensively to help destroy the enemy’s strategies. It is the truth of Scripture. However, no where in the Bible -- no where! -- are we instructed to address Satan in a verbal confrontation, not even in Ephesians 6.

@gabrielhalston67262 жыл бұрын
@@victoryhouse1446 You are correct; yes, Jesus Christ was tempted and He spoke directly back to Satan and quoted Scripture. There is a major difference between Jesus addressing Satan directly and we believers and followers of Christ: Jesus is God Almighty -- and we're not. If you will recall in Jude 9, the archangel, Michael disputed with Satan over the body of Moses. While Scripture doesn't give any particulars over this incident, the Scriptures says in verse 9: "But even the archangel Michael, when he disputed with the devil over the body of Moses, did not presume to bring a slanderous charge against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Not even the highest ranking and most powerful archangel, Michael, dared not address Satan directly nor even bring a charge against him, but said......"The LORD rebuke you!" The chief angel of God, Michael, who especially watches over the nation of Israel (Daniel 10:13, 21; 12:1) and leads all of the holy angels, yielded and deferred himself over to the sovereignty and power of God. Was Michael at least powerful enough to handle Satan? Probably (see Revelation 12:7 where Michael and the holy angels defeated Satan and his demons and threw them out of heaven); however, he completely deferred to God and God only in his rebuke of Satan. If the holy angels, including archangel Michael, dare not address Satan, what makes you or anyone else think we have the authority to do so? We are no match for Satan or his demons -- but, Jesus is more than a match for them. So, the answer is: we don't. In the same manner as Michael did, whenever we find ourselves under spiritual attack from demonic forces (and if you are trusting in Christ and following in His steps, you most certainly will be!) we are to defer as well by submitting ourselves to the Lord in our heart and attitude....resist the enemy.....and, then to continue STANDING. Standing on what? The promises of His word by faith as we do battle against the principalities, the forces of wickedness, the authorities and dominions that assail us from the realm of darkness. Ephesians 6:13 says........"Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to RESIST in the evil day, and having done everything, to STAND firm." So..........we SUBMIT....we RESIST..... we STAND.....all on the promises of God's word. Again, no where -- NO WHERE!! -- in Scripture does God instruct us to address and assault Satan in a verbal manner. We are to submit and defer ourselves to the King of kings and Lord of lords, our God and Savior, JESUS CHRIST!! Maranatha!

It's simple. Christ had not yet died for mankind, so Satan was disputing that Michael didn't have the right to raise Moses from the dead at that time.

You ably discussed why we should accept this account as true. However, you don't address the issue of why Moses and Satan were disputing over the body of Moses. I have always accepted the first issue as true, but have wondered as to the reason for this dispute. I have heard some speculate that Moses is one of the two end time witnesses and that God through Michael was retaining the body of Moses so that it could be reanimated at that time. However, I've never heard a theory that answers this question with certainty. I don't see this question to be of any real doctrinal significance, but it's something I have long been curious about.
@musiclover1482 жыл бұрын
I wondered while listening to the video whether the dispute had anything to do with Moses' being one of the two witnesses in Revelation, and Satan's trying to prevent that by destroying the body! Then I scrolled down and found your statement that others have speculated the same thing. Thanks for mentioning this.
@deliberativedisciple2 жыл бұрын
The two witnesses are the Old and New Testaments. In a typological sense, Moses represents the first witness, since the Torah are the books of Moses, but those who take the two witnesses to be literal resurrected people or perhaps the anti-christ to be a single person, need to do more cross-referenced study. Revelation is very symbolic. Remember how Jesus told His disciples to beware the leaven of the Pharisees and they started speculating it was because they didn't have any bread with them? Yeah, it's like that.
@musiclover1482 жыл бұрын
@@deliberativedisciple As far as I know, the Old and New Testaments can't call down fire on people. The Old and New Testaments can't be killed and then lie in the streets for three days. It is not that difficult to distinguish in the pages of the Revelation between symbols of things or persons and real things or persons.

Hi LadySue Yeah, you are right. We are to cast out demons as Jesus commanded. But regarding the matter of we being greater than angels, it's not true at this time. Psalms 8:4-5 4. What is man that You are mindful of him and the son of man that you visit him? 5. For You have made him a little lower than angels and you have crowned him with glory and honour. We are actually lower than them. Also, just as there are hierarchies in God's Kingdom, so are they in the kingdom of darkness. Demons are amongst the low level bad guys and we have permission to cast them out. But demonic princes, territorial spirits or wickedness in the heavenly, we aren't permitted to touch them except give permission by God too. [Jude 1 and 2 Peter 2].

@@victoriabassey263 Hi Victoria 🙋🏻♀️, thank you for correcting me in that. You are absolutely right... we are lower than angels. And yet, still have charge over them. Thank you for that. I knew we were on some level regarding angels 😁
@victoriabassey2632 жыл бұрын
@@LadySue13 Yes, but I'd like to add something about angels too. They are also in hierarchy. There are guardian angels, warrior angels, messenger angels, archangels and other types the Bible doesn't tell us about. You can't have charge over all of them and even the ones you might have charge over, it might be because of a particular assignment that God is sending you on, so you'll definitely need them. There are angels whose presence makes people faint or fall sick [you'd see that if you read the Book of Daniel]. There are angels who shouldn't be provoked [you'd see that in Exodus with the children of Israel], etc. Just see angels as servants who are there to train and help and assist and discipline (like tutors) the 5years old prince till he becomes a mature son (maybe 21years old). If he is made prince regent, his tutors now become his servant. So it's safe to understand that while we walk towards attaining sonship, we have angels sent to assist us in what we do and that if we are faithful like our older Brother was, we will be over them too.

The archangel Michael was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses because Angel Michael was taking Moses straight to heaven, skipping purgatory (Hades), whereas every righteous person (with the exception of Enoch and Elijah) went to purgatory before Christ died. The reason is, the devil then had the ‘right’ to take the body of Moses because he then held the keys to death. Archangel Michael however rebuked him in the name of the Lord, a higher authority, and absolved this right he had concerning Moses. This is why we see in Luke 9, Moses and Elijah (from heaven) having a chat with Jesus when He was transfigured. Hope you are all blessed. Let’s remain abiding in the Word!

Just for clarity: The Prince of Persia is not a demon. It never says that in the scripture. The entity is implied to be one of the sons of god that YHWH portioned the nations to and then judged in Ps 82. And as it lists in Eph 6:12: “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high place.“ - these are all unique types of entities, all unique words used to describe each one by Paul. We really need to stop referring to everything in the unseen realm as a demon or an angel because it’s WAY more complex than that. Paul understood this, but we’ve been blinded by our Hellenistic brothers and lost our Hebrew roots. Let’s get back to them… (a good place to begin: Michael Hieser’s Unseen Realm)

Yahshua - you know Him as Jesus - was born to a virgin, turned water to wine, taught, healed the sick, raised the dead, casted out demons, walked on water, calmed the storm, and fed a crowd of thousands with a few fish and a few loaves of bread, among many other things. He was killed on the cross as payment for the sins of all mankind, three days later He rose from the dead. Forty days later He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father. He is returning very soon, but before He does, Satan, the devil, is coming to pretend to be Jesus/God (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4). Satan is an angel, and he will have certain supernatural powers with which to try to fool everyone. He will, for example, be able to make fire come down from heaven in the sight of men. He will only be on earth a short time before the real King of Kings, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, returns. When the real Jesus comes we will all be transformed into our spiritual bodies at the same moment. Jesus came in the flesh to offer forgiveness of sins and eternal life to anyone who believes and calls on His precious name! if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. - Matthew 26:6-13 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.... To anoint your self, the sick, or a building for spiritual protection: Get a small bottle of olive oil and pour off a small amount into a smaller vessel like a vial or baby food jar. Use the rest of the bottle for cooking. Ask the Lord to bless your vial of oil in Jesus name. Anoint yourself with the oil by placing a dab of oil on tip of finger and touch it to your forehead, and ask the Lord to bless you/heal you. Place a dab of oil on your finger and anoint the door posts and order all negativity and evil out of the house, and order that nothing negative or evil can enter into your home including piggybacking on a person entering, order it to be so in the name of Jesus. Anoint all potential entrances to your home. To anoint the sick, place oil on tip of finger and touch it to the head of the sick and say a prayer of healing over them in Jesus name. See James Chapter 5:14-15...'

Jesus actually commissioned us to do so, as well as to heal, resurrect and to preach the good news. As you say, and I believe it, scripture is inerrant. The onus is on us to come under it. But I liked your analysis very much otherwise. My experience with casting out demons is they will obey but it’s a very important practice to not get into arguments with them or let them speak much, because they lie, blaspheme And stir up fear. And the only fear worth having is the fear of the Lord. His perfect love makes us able to do amazing things in his name and for his kingdom. For that I am so grateful. But correct interpretation of scripture keeps me safe in the realm of supernatural. I stand on the perfect word of God and I stand in godly community or I cannot stand. I appreciate your teaching.

Would you consider a different perspective or hypothesis? The ancient Jews appear to me as though they worshipped the law of Moses itself rather than Jehovah himself. If we looked more closely at the history of the more modern Catholic church, we see the reverence of relics, ostensibly the relics of 'saints', pieces of bodies and even whole skeletons. Perhaps Jehovah tasked Michael with securing the body so that Satan couldn't use it to inculcate worship or reverence of Moses' body (which equates idol worship) among the Jews, seeing ahead as Jehovah does how they eventually viewed the law? They fought over Moses body because Moses is one of the two Witnesses from Revelation (compare the list of powers/miracles) and Satan wanted to thwart his return (Moses') with the other witness (most likely Elijah - again compare power/miracles). You would only need to keep Moses' body if it was intended to be used again.. .otherwise we have new bodies ready for Christ's return.

Isn't it weird how Jude quotes Enoch and the Assumption of Moses? Makes you wonder whether we should include these two in the Bible. The Ethiopians have Enoch in their Bible. Maybe we should have it too? They don't seem to have the Assumption of Moses though.

Jude’s citation of the Assumption of Moses-if, in fact, he was citing that particular work-is not necessarily an endorsement of the work itself. Paul, for example, cited a non-Christian poet in Acts 17:28 and a non-scriptural narrative in 2 Timothy 3:8. Both references were meant to support a particular point Paul was making. Similarly, Jude’s possible allusion to the Assumption of Moses was to help further his point about false teachers.

@Daniel_Godismyjudge--Isah33.22 Jude 9 has nothing to do with “the body of Moses”. It’s symbolic of someone else.

@@michaelseay9783 May I ask, how can it be Symbollic?

The Devil and demon are not really interchangeable. Demons are not necessarily fallen angels. The scripture records "depart into ever lasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" not devil and his demons. Could they be the same, maybe, they both are ruled by the same master but they are referred to in different context. You don't see angels (fallen or otherwise) seeking to occupy a body like demons do. The scripture also refers to angels that "left their first estate" (purpose or form of being) as being reserved in chains.

"The scripture records "depart into ever lasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" not devil and his demons." So...we can conclude demons don't face the final judgment? Or maybe that there multiple words that can describe the same thing...
@OutlawToys2 жыл бұрын
@@deliberativedisciple I do not think you can conclude that. The referenced scripture is being spoken to people that are not "the devil and his angels" and so we know that it was prepared for a particular set of creatures but that it will be the destiny of more than that. Otherwise, at least it seems to me, that Jesus could/would have just said prepared for 'you' or "prepared for all who oppose" but it seems to point that it was created originally for a particular set of creatures and then those who follow them were added, or you could look at it that anyone that resists God is an angel (messenger) of 'the devil'.

OK, but do not confuse Fallen Angels and Demons. Not the same.

Mark 16:17 - And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues. That’s just one of several scriptures that give us authority in Jesus name to cast out demons. His title was nothing more than click bait to get us to watch, and then he had no answer to the question. Instead, he used the opportunity to actually deny scripture that is very plain in its meaning. Why? Read and study your Bible. Then you won’t fall victim to the lies of the enemy. Greater is He (Holy Spirit) that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Because Moses was raised from the dead when Jesus appeared with Moses and Elijah on the Mount of transfiguration, it is a picture of the pre tribulation rapture/resurrection.

First off, are you sure angels and demons are the same entity? Some would dispute that fact, stating that "fallen" angels and demons are a different hierarchy in Satan's kingdom. Demons are disembodied spirits and always seek to "possess" a body, while angels fallen or not can materialize in a body without possession. Second, as a Christian we are united to Christ, He lives in true believers by the Holy Spirit. That fact alone changes the whole dynamic of interaction with the forces of evil, verse say the interaction between an angel and satanic forces. No scripture is of private interpretation, need to see the whole body of work.
