Yesss Eurovision! Been there, done that! Both semi-finals. Been to a family- and a juryshow with my daughter, who shares my love of Eurovision. So happy to have been able to experience this. Now on the subject of your daughter: hope all goes well and she makes a speedy recovery. Ofc being a mom supercedes everything else, no contest there!

I can relate to being giddy and having no clue what to do when you have press accreditation for a big event. (in my case, I had press accreditation for the A1GP at Zandvoort in 2007 !). But as I am not a schooled journalist, I just had no idea what to do or where to go. I just took lots of pictures and all... Those were the good times. Sadly, due to mismanagement, the series went bankrupt in 2009.

Looking forward to the day that Ireland or the UK win again so that I can travel to the following years event without it costing an arm and a leg. Last one attended was when Abba won in Brighton. Work commitments has meant any long distance travel since has not been possible, even a night away was often too long for unscheduled leave. Now retired so only cost is the barrier. Airlines and hotels put up prices when Eurovision is in Town! Hope your daughter's surgery goes well with a speedy recovery from it.

Good thing there is a direct train service nowadays between the UK and the Netherlands ;) But due to CoViD, international travel has been restricted to only the most important of travels. But yeah, Hotels are expensive. Best bet probably would have been to find a camping nearby or something.

@@RichardRenes Camping, you must be joking, even glamping these days, I have gotten used to 4 and 5 star hotels. A lot of people have forgotten how good international train travel is in mainland Europe and with Eurostar now going to Amsterdam as well makes it easy to get anywhere in Europe by rail. Just wish there was one between Ireland and GB. Living in the SW corner of Ireland one is a bit isolated now the Swansea - Cork ferry is defunct. France and Spain no problem, a mini cruise as over 24hrs. crossing to Spain, time for a tunnel between IE - GB. A beautiful place to live, West Cork, but crap weather at times, great for Atlantic storm lovers.

Eurovision was almost dead years ago in The Netherlands, has this revived because of programs like "the Voice"" ?? Because it was in Rotterdam this year? Update me, not a fan of Eurovision? Hope you like this event at least. Only know Nikkie de Jager from the famous TV Program "The Mole"" (Wie is de Mol) but she must be a great an funny person. Not intested in make-up but in culture differces, thats why subscribed to your channel! Keep on creating the nice vids! MY REAL QUESTION: (Since not living for 10+ years, I learned not be always to be that direct any more): What I'm interested into, since you are originally from the US: Can you explain, what the word "free" really means esp in advertising: Free as in "free beer" but there is always a catch: "enter your VISA CC details now". Free to join? Free to use for ever, free to contribute?? Free to live?? The first Eurovision Songfestival I saw was when Abba won. The last one I saw was when Abba won. I have seen parts of other Songfestivals. Abba was the only group/musician/vocalist that made it. All others, including winners, failed. Quality is dismal. I truly think it's degrading.

Sorry to hear about the surgery, and no worries, "we" are not going anywhere, "we" love you guys too much! And Daan, don't hate me, but - the acnes: no cheese or fried food of any kind (junk food, greasy stuff); slice a lemon and literally go with wedges over your face and let the acidity sit for 15 mins. My friend had a huge breakthrough w this discovery a few years ago after four decades of "suffering"!

@victor Perlain, wow, nasty remark and untrue. Acne most of the time is hormonal and has little to do with food. Rubbing lemon over your face is WAY too coarse, it will dry out your skin completely. Acne doesn’t mean your skin is greasy or such. It means there’s a hormonal problem. It’s better to see a dermatologist or a skin therapist (dermatoloog of huid therapeut) to get proper advice instead of some nonsense in reactions here. There are much better treatments available for acne if you wish to treat it, Daan

Well, some people have acne - which they'll most probably grow out of - others are bald, which.......(you fill in the dots). Just to demonstrate how easy it is to get personal with remarks that are definitely 'below the belt'.
