Why Winning Scares People and Other Intense Truths from Tim Grover
------------
Do you want to win bad enough?
Tim Grover knows what it takes to win. He’s seen it in his career training superstar athletes like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley and many others.
Today he’s an author and business consultant, and I had the good fortune to present him as a keynote speaker to our coaching members at last week’s Elite Retreat in Las Vegas.
We also took the time to sit down for today’s podcast, where he rips the band-aid off the realities of tapping into the greatness within you, winning, and doing it all again after you reach that pinnacle.
Believe me... you don’t want to miss this one.
0:00 - Intro
0:45 - Tim explains his extraordinary backstory
3:55 - How Tim’s intensity makes him for some people and not for others
7:40 - Are you settling for less than your true potential?
10:02 - A bold proclamation that led to training Michael Jordan
14:06 - “Pressure is a privilege”
17:26 - MJ issues a challenge
19:17 - Why winning scares people
22:07 - Winning doesn’t care; how to tap into that mindset
27:32 - Why declaring your intentions is so important
28:34 - Track and measure EVERYTHING!
For the majority of my life, I’ve been passionate and dedicated about changing lives by giving away the very best strategies, tactics, and mindset techniques to help you and your business succeed. Join me as we take this to level 10!

You can clearly tell that Tim is a true winner. I feel he's one of the relatively few people who truly understands me. I have never really lost and I never will. I will always persist until I win. He understands.

I've had physical problems from car accidents and Lyme disease co-infections for 6-7 years. What he said about addressing the injuries first on MJ makes sense. I've been to 2 chiropractors, 3 physical therapist, and had surgery in 2019. I'll keep working towards getting better. 1 % better everyday has been my goal the last 6 months. Time to find someone that knows what they're doing.

Love it! I can totally relate to it. Adversity and pressure, made me make that decision of becoming who I am today; from growing up within phycological and financial poverty in a developing country, to moving to the U.S and been the first within my family in accomplishing major live changing generational goals and still moving forward...awesome interview Tom--thank you!

Cool interview. Who is going to bring Jocko Willink and Tim Grover together? That would blow up the internet.

I have an issue with using the never being satisfied attitude when you apply it to business and making money because it implies a lot of immoral topics such as greed at the expense of other people's living wage

What is wrong with the interviewer??? It’s like he has ants in his pants - too distracted by his constant twitching and shuffling to enjoy this

Knowing the context could help. This interview involves two established, successful performance coaches, not one. Tom was interviewing Tim when Tim was at a conference Tom’s company was holding. He’s no pest.

Interviewer is super annoying and his ego obviously feels challenged by Tim’s presence. He is NOT the same as Tim Grover and he knows it.
