Actually the reasons the slowest and oldest are allowed to go first is so they can manage at their own pace instead of getting left behind, otherwise those in front will frequently need to guess and slow down. Also, the oldest in the pack usually have the most real life experience and the keenest sense of scents and danger. A young male can see a rancher with a rifle for the first time and not know the stick is a gun, but an old wolf will alert the pack.

A few times a year I used to deer hunt as a teenager with my dad. There was this one older doe very red in color for a coastal black tail deer prob about 7-8 years when first seen, my dad and hunting buddy Doug used to call “Big Red”. For years id hear complaints about they go out to their ground blinds or tree stands and 20 deer would be able walk 40-60 yards from the blind, but near every time just as sun started going down Big Red the biggest doe of them all would come into the field sniffing and full alert mode just after the younger does hit the fields but before the bucks and she bust them every time lmao. Hissing, stomping, vocal calling, in a pissed off way too, beyond annoyed that dad and Doug were there to ruin her dinner. Getting all the deer fired up and leaving just before the bucks would come out. I think they liked her for the laughs from the performances and adrenaline rush of her busting them but after she ruined Doug’s chance at a big guy one night, that was the end of the performances. The hunting became easier the seasons following her passing. Bucks seemed to come out a bit earlier at nightfall.

Mostly the OMEGA walk alone the ALPHA is with the females
@nyalan83854 ай бұрын
@@siemwachtmeester4626there is absolutely no such thing as omega and alpha for wolf packs. Not a single member of the scientific community recognizes those positions in a wolf pack, and the researcher who initially coined the terms realized he was wrong literally later that same year, and spent the rest of his career trying to tell people he was wrong. But news media thinks alpha sounds cooler so they just stuck to that. Wolf packs are usually one or two family groups, and the “alpha” wolves are usually just the main pair of mates the majority of the pack descends from. The wolf in the back is, however, the closest thing to an “alpha” the pack has, although that just means most physically dominant male. This position has barely any hierarchical value, any other wolf could take this spot if they were stronger and it has little to no benefits aside from showing off fitness to female wolves.

We had a pack of 4 Siberian Huskies that acted like wolves. 3 were purebred, mom Harley, biggest son Kash and the only female and runt of the litter Meka. Kylie had the same dad but her mother was 1/2 German Sheppard and 1/2 Coyote. Kash was the alpha male and acted like one. He let Meka, the alpha female, do the daily disciplining but if another dog entered the picture or if he though any of the pack members was in trouble, he would step in. However, Meka ruled with kindness. She was every human's and every dog's favourite dog. She always ate last, unless we put something special in her bowl. She did this so she could protect her mother and brother's food bowl and even Pixie's bowl (our 7lb yorky), all from Kylie who had food aggression. We always served her last, but she always finished first looking to steal food from the others. Meka just had to posture and Kylie would backoff. They were all so interesting to watch. Kylie always tried to elevate herself in the pack but sadly, this just occured about a month ago, following the deaths of Pixie, Meka and Harley. They all passed away within 16 months and all due to 3 different types of cancer. She has now become alpha female and for the first time ever, a few weeks ago, Kash finally allowed her to lay with him. I was so happy for her because she is the most affectionate out of all of them. I think she was last in the pack, possibly due to her constant need to guard the house and survey the perimeter over playing with the others. When she did play, she would often get too rough and Meka would put her in her place. We call Kylie our ADHD dog. She just has to be constantly roaming and surveying the perimeter. The minute the pack saw Meka's lifeless body, there was a huge impact. None of dogs ever played together again and after mama Harley's death 6 months later, Kash stopped eating again. When he saw his mom's lifeless body, he sat down beside her, looked at me and his shoulders shrug as if the life had been sucked out of him. It took him over a month but has finally let his sister Kylie lay with him. He had always slept and laid down with Meka, she was his sweetheart. Looking back, they behaved like a pack of wolves, it was beautiful to see. They were all gorgeous on their own, but when they were all together, Kash is the xfactor dog.

Do you or your family smoke? Many dogs will appear fat when someone around them smokes. Secondly, please look into Gentle Giant’s Dog Food, created by Burt Ward, the “Robin” actor in “Batman and Robin”; he created a food formula with less toxins/ pesticides. He is proving that his dogs live to 20 years. A healthy life without suffering is possible. I’m sorry for your losses. That was a lot in a short time. Have you heard of raw food diets for dogs? Timothy Ferris, author and mind hack guy, mentions adding a fish oil to his dog’s food.

@@JamesBond-ib9tqthey don't put them to the first group to sacrifice, this channel is misleading. The first group are old and wise wolves which have keen senses and can alert the pack if any danger is near, and also old wolves are slow, and if they are in the back they will get left behind

@steffenstelldinger99994 ай бұрын
The oldest wolves are at the top not so much because they are predatory, but because they have the most experience and can therefore recognize possible dangers the quickest! If there was an enemy, the pack would be there immediately, especially since they are not far away. This is different when it comes to crevices under the snow cover, which can be quickly recognized and avoided by the most experienced pack members.

How do u know?
@steffenstelldinger9999Ай бұрын
@@Sunset-kx9eb Wolves are very social animals that look after their family. Members who can still or no longer hunt are also looked after. Without this behavior, they would not have joined humans, which is how the dog came about. There is also more than enough behavioral research on wolves. The rest is logic.
