Would you kindly sell me some Beechdust ? lol
@h4ppyleader2 жыл бұрын
Really good video mate thank you, what do you use to make the dust?
@Coldsmoking2 жыл бұрын
I used to use an electric wood plane set on extremely fine and it would produce loads of fine dust. I now sell commercially via my website www.coldsmoking.co.uk but as we now do this as a business we need to comply with a few more regulations regarding it's sourcing etc. I no longer make it myself as we source from a wholesale supplier of commercial food grade woods for smoking.

Thank you for the great detail in this video I've tried now to make cold smoked salmon loxs twice The 1st time I got my sawdust to ignite and smolder but when I came back It had actually caught fire and burned to a hot smoking temperature I still enjoyed the smoke salmon but obviously it wasn't cold lol This time I have tried now I'm watching it closely and it tried to do that again I think I filled the smoke generator with too much sawdust so I have eliminated some and Continually working with it to get to know my smoke generator better I use a cheap imitation to the one you use thank you again great video I subscribed A question can pellets be used instead of sawdust thanks again
@Coldsmoking2 жыл бұрын
there are some smoke generators that use pellets but they tend to have a pumped air supply. personally I’ve not tried myself. Thanks for your subscription and comment, appreciated. 🙏

I'd suggest that before you smoke anything to run your sawdust generator couple of times just to learn how it works.. nobody wants to go to the smoker in the morning to realise generator went out half way.. i seen people making these out of the kitchen strainer

good advice! always learn how your kit works. 👍

I wonder what machine I can use to grind up my chips to your Beech size? I've tried Blender and Food Processor...even coffee grinder!
@Coldsmoking Жыл бұрын
i buy my dust in from the manufacturer. but if you’re not wanting to buy try a router blade on a block of beech.

I have 1 from wish that cost £8 and never had a problem . As long as the dust is dry and the burner is clean it works every time 😁
