Did the front casting deck and trolling motor deck with 3/4 Birch ply, epoxy sealed, and HydroTurf after watching your vids. Sticks like it was screwed down, fantastic stuff. Think I'll try the oil based for the floor that I'm doing now. Thanks for the awesome vids.

No prob! Although I would suggest that if you’re already doing epoxy that you should just epoxy the whole thing so it’ll last a lot longer

@@TinyBoatNation Will do, thanks. Screws or rivets to hold plywood to the center Z channels and the formed aluminum cross ribs?

Thank you very much, that video was perfect! I am saving up to redo the front deck on my regular Tracker Pro170. I have been putting it off because I thought I could not put EVA foam effectively on my old wood deck. But I’m going to use these techniques and redo it and I’m hoping to add a recessed foot pedal for the trolling motor. Thank you again for the inspiration.

Thanks for this video. I’m looking at getting a 14 ft duranatic aluminum boat, looking to do some aluminum hatch, wood decking, and also some liquid pour foam. What are your thoughts about putting something like that in the bay? I’m in the north east looking to do some bridge fishing. Saltwater fishing 😊

That’s awesome, the wood decking I needed this video. Been watching Your videos for a few weeks now, I recently sold my fish pro JetSki and transitioning into a small boat. Not sure what to get yet but thought I would ask. What do you think is one of the deepest aluminum boats I can buy in a 16 foot range., looking to use it in the northeast saltwater. Also, how do I purchase one of those hatches? Are the hatches power coated?

First of all, I love your channel. I have a 18 foot center console that was given to me, and I want to rewire the boat. Putting dual batteries, a VSR, and a cutoff switch. Right now everything is connected to the starter battery. Not good cause I haven’t noticed any fuzes. I want to install the fuse box also. Can you please give some advice and or guidance. Thank you

Just to clarify, wouldn't you turf the deck after it's installed into the boat so you don't have to put the decking screws through the turf?

What thickness and span for the aluminum framing under 3/4 ply would you recommend?
@TinyBoatNation3 ай бұрын
You can run 16 gauge you just need supports every foot or so. The thicker, the aluminum the less support you need the three-quarter inch plywood is pretty stiff by itself.
@PunkR0ckz093 ай бұрын
It might be a dumb question but here it is anyway; Shouldn't you "burn" the edges of the EVA foam to "seal" it ? By "burn", I meant using a lighter or something like that just to kind of "melt" the fibers (similar to shoelaces and whatnot)
@TinyBoatNation3 ай бұрын
Nope, it’s not necessary.

I wouldn't feel comfortable being that high above the orig. deck. wonder how this will handle in waves and heavy chop
@TinyBoatNation3 ай бұрын
Just fine. It’s a pretty big boat if it was a 14 footer or if it was skinnier, I would definitely have to worry.
@wookfolk7803 ай бұрын
I have seen jn your other videos u routered it out to sit flush do you not do that anymore cuz it looks fine in this video without it
@TinyBoatNation3 ай бұрын
There’s no need to do it if you’re going to use camel hydrator. It’s more important to do that if you’re running one straight color because then you’ll see shadows
