The awards panel for 15's Men Player of the Year was 9, including 1 from South Africa, but otherwise fairly balanced with representatives from 7 other countries. For Coach of the Year, it comprised only 4 people (why?), with 2 coming from NZ, 1 from Argentina and 1 from England (why?) and with the 2 women on the panel having never served as a rugby coach. Surely, this is not the way to prevent bias.

Rassie was not the coach during the world cup. In 2015 the All Blacks won the world cup and Steve Hansen was also not appointed as coach of the year. These awards try to favour the Northern Hemisphere

Sevens is a spinoff of 15 rugby. This is a shocking decision, and there is more to it than meets the eye. Rassie will never get an award , they just downright hate him . Totally ridiculous that the french 7s coach won. He is in charge since 2017 and the team was since then mediocre and this year, Dupont joins and the team magically starts winning. The award, if anything, should have gone to Gomez Core of Argentina or Rassie.

7's is hardly a tactical advantage... if it were then Fiji wouldn't be so strong.. very little to do with a coach and more to do with flashes of individual brilliance... Coaching has much less to do with success than in 15's. In 15's the teams with the best coached set pieces and defence win matches...
