What a brilliant year of international rugby. Whilst the players and the invited media were in Monaco to acknowledge the success, here is my reaction to the winners of the individual awards and the Dream Team of 2024.

Since when does Rugby 7's Olympic teams trump the Rugby World Cup teams and how does the minds of World Rugby work to compare the 7's coaches with the 15 coaches???? Rugby 7's is a different game with different rules, you cannot compare it on any level with the 15 man game. World Rugby under Bill has really gone to shit on so many levels. I wonder if Rassie coaches the South African 7's team for the next Olympics and win the gold, will the "committee" pick him as the Rugby coach of the year - I don't think so, not even if he has 3 World Cup Titles. Congrats to PSTD and Rassie and the Springboks for a wonderful year of outstanding Rugby.

I think you may find that the two time world cup coach was relevant in the years 2019 and 2023. This is 2024. There is only "no comparison" if you don't want there to be. The sevens coach you speak of this year coached the team who win the grand final of the world series and an Olympic gold.

"but then again the elites who run the show will force their agenda". Half of the team is south african, what agenda are they even pushing? Awesome Channel Tim. Thanks for the great coverage. Comparing 7's to 15's is a travesty. World Rugby's fear is Rassie will win a RWC 3 Peat ... They will continue changing the laws and I believe he will do it. He doesn't need their approval. For me when Rassie walks into a room the rest of the coaches just crinje. He is the GOAT.

Very subjective choice . As a biased French supporter , i would have have put a few of my team in there (Meafu , Louis Bielle biarrey and Boudehent spring to mind ). Overall , difficult to argue with those palyers who are all masters of their roles and great repredentatives of the game we all love . Thank you Eggchasers . Your channel is a must for all rugby lovers

I’m French too but no way we put any French in that team. Our 6 nations was too shite for that. The only one I could seen, and that sounds ludicrous, is Ramos at 10. Because there is no 10 that really dominated the field this year. And he played Wales / England / NZ / Argentina / Japan in that position and was excellent all the time. But are 5 matchs at a position enough to be nominated ? I’m not sure

Pollard definitely the best flyhalf, yes mught not have started every game but that is due to Boks policy of building a squad.. ask yourself, if you playing in a world cup final tomorrow, who would you select?

A man who won 2 WC's, who brought innovation to rugby, who changed the game and fixed SA rugby not getting coach of the year. Really, Jerome does not even touch his shadow. Put this man in charge of world of rugby and this game will grow exponentially. Instead of concentrating on bs rules and the worst officiating ever seen. A plan for rugby for years ahead of time. He is what rugby needs and that intimedates everyone at the top. That is the darker side of greatness.

Hi Tim, have to agree with you, I think Marcus Smith has been pretty exciting. Why don't they have coach for sevens and coach for 15s? Rassie got snubbed again because he continues to challenge the status quo and he has had run ins with World Rugby so might never get this award. Thanks Tim, for the great commentary and non biased views, which is rare in the rugby media.

2024 Boks won Quatar Airways Cup Mandela Callenge Plate Freedom Cup Rugby Championship Prince William Cup Against the backdrop of a back to back world cup win. But amazingly it was done without a coach. South African's are surely blessed with intuitive Rugby strategic reaction and Jedi like control of contact situations.
