@@MRS.SammeK you said "feel pressure to provide". Are you implying the pressure to provide is imagined? Do you believe that the entire history of men being providers and women being carers is imagined, with no biological basis? If a species of bird ate only one type of berry for millenia, would it not develop a better beak to eat that type of berry? And among that species of birds, the males and females evolved differently to fill their gender roles withing their bird society. The males feathered vibrantly to attract a mate. Humans, being much more complex than birds, evolved similarly. You cannot throw out millenia of evolution, socially and physically, to fit your 50 year old narrative.

Greatest position of power is to be financially independent and dont give a fuck about these so called positions of power that ruin people. Happiness is worth more then the so called succes they claim to have. Now Im not saying that means having no ambition or not wanting to have a career. But with all good things in life, moderation is the key. You can climb the ladder till a certain point. I always say, time is money, but money is also time. After a certain amount working less, being able to spend your free time doing fun stuff, going out, spending time with friends becomes worth more. But to ‘buy’ that time, you need to be financially independent. Free time being poor is worthless free time. You work to live, you don’t live to work.

Once my child was old enough to no require my full attention. Once they could walk to the community centre. On their own, to attend the after school program. I went back to work. I was always that kid that never cared about class and I didn’t have any direction as far as what I wanted to do with my life which as you know is a terrible combination that only gets worse. Your original classroom lectures inspired me to love going to my classes and to love learning and hopefully one day I’ll be in the position to be able to inspire others just like you inspired me. Thank you for speaking to us young men and women and giving us truth. You don’t even know how many people that were on the verge of giving everything up completely that didn’t give up because they heard you speak. You are truly a blessing Dr. Peterson, molded and shaped in the Lords image and placed here to do His good work. I don't know if it really happened or was a parable, but I heard Einstein one was writing out the simple multiplication table by 10s (1x10=10, 2x20=20) and the class just watched. At the very end he wrote 9x10=99. The whole class started laughing and mocking him, asking how he could make such a mistake in an elementary problem. Both my boys were excepted into the local community college and vocational schools excelled in their work at the Air Force accepted my one son into service for 9 years. My mom was a stay at home mom off and on. Even if she worked she worked part time. We were raised mostly by her. My mom was not a motherly woman. She rarely hugged us and stiffened up when we hugged her. She resented taking care of us. She said we were 3 mistakes. She complained that when she was alone with us kids and not working that she was going bonkers from a lack of adult conversation. My dad was an introvert and was tired of talking when he got home from work. Part of the problem is being split into single families. In the past people lived around grandparents, aunts and uncles etc. to raise children together. So the mother could get conversation and help from family members.

In my experience, the key to successfully balancing career and raising a family is having a good, solid support system. My parents, in-laws and siblings played important roles in our kids' lives. As parents, we are not always at our best mentally, spiritually and even physically. Being able to lean on to another trusted member of the family during our low points is crucial for parent's and for the children's welfare. Fortunately, we live near our extended family so our children grew up surrounded by loving family members.

In our society it’s not enough to be a stay at home mom. You’re supposed to be more accomplished than that. I can name literally (and I mean that the way the word is intended) hundreds of women who stay at home with their young children. Up until last year I was part of a program for supporting stay at home moms. Nearly every single one of them felt some sort of guilt or shame. Guilt they weren’t contributing financially or shame that they weren’t accomplished in a career society deemed valuable. That’s part of the problem, IMO. I’ve done both, had a career and raised small children. IMO, the raising small children is much harder. A supportive spouse and a solid group of trusted friends makes all the difference for a family unit as a whole. Some of the highest rates of depression come from stay at home moms. Many times the only resources available to young stay at home moms are outreaches from Christian churches and in a world that’s increasingly less religious it can be pretty isolating.

It is very hard for children to have two working parents and a nanny. Parents should try to have one of them home at all times when a kid is home. I get you need a babysitter every once in a while, but having the parents so absent from a kids life can be detrimental to a child’s mental health.

If your husband makes good money and second income isn’t required, you’ll still be seen as taking advantage, lazy and looked down upon if you’re a stay at home mom. No one has any respect for you at all. It’s just not accepted and you are required to work regardless of household income. I hate it.

It's perfect for women, as we are wired for multitasking, to figure out where the problem will arise, and prevent that, making decisions, make a chart over things that need to be done, and who's probably best at doing them, and if nobody is, we do it our f-cking self... To run a business, is EXACTLY like running a household, and men struggle with that, so how can they run a business. Well they hire a woman to keep track (secretary) so they only have to deliver the orders, and collect the praise..

@@kevinsoto9717 yup, you read it correctly, men struggle so much running a business that almost every successful business out there was built from the ground up by a man, and most businesses out there that was built up by a female, well they hire only females and you can guess how that ends😂 she thinks that by being good at multitasking means you're good at running a business, when infact articulate and critical thinking is what one needs, common sense also wouldn't hurt, all three of which majority of men are much better at than women cuz most men don't associate feelings when coming up with a solution and or way to expand said business.

Sadly people think they need to have two brand new cars, a mortgage payment that they are just two or three months away from foreclosure if they lose their job, they have to hustle to pay all their bills and go on vacation and live in this $500,000 house they can’t really afford but the bank said they can afford it so they did it. what happened to starting out in a smaller home with less stuff and old cars?? Working your way up into a better home and more assets? But the last couple of generations they think that they need everything now and they incurred debt up to their eyeballs they’re one or two months away from foreclosure and living month-to-month. I know because the business I ran I saw financial profiles and most folks were in homes they really could not afford.

Being a stay at home mom is then most powerful job ever. The most important as well. The reason we have so many psychopaths walking around, kids with severe mental health issues. Moms at work. They are raided by strangers. Kids are at school by 7am, out at 3..straight into a day care or after school program til 6 or 7. Mom see them for an hour or 2 at most. Then Maybe mommy will get a vacation once a year...then she spends that time on the phone or computer. Don't have kids even you won't raise them.

I don’t know ever since I saw him completely deny giving help to someone who is asking for it… Like at least Dr. Phil if someone runs up on stage asking for his help he’ll stop the people and approach the guy like his human being and try to help him in someway unless he seems like he opposes some kind of threat he’s very open to mental health issues… This guy talks about it but I’ve seen him literally just tell someone I hope you get the help you need instead of actually trying to help them himself. People have a lot of words to say but don’t actually follow up on them with their actions I got little trust for. Just saying 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hire a nanny to have a life. There's more to life than this really. I want to be present with my kids. I don't drink alcohol I don't smoke anything i cook we eat health... I want a life with my kids. Yes I'd get a nanny to have a dinner with my spouse.....I don't though but yes I should get one to take a minute to myself and they feel safe with that person and it's about balance. I'm a single mom why should I sacrifice any part of what is balancing for me and my children.

The home was a better place when men were protectors and providers and women were lovers and nurturers. Women’s ambition is a bit@& that steals our God-given peace. We were not created to do it all. Nor were men. That’s why the lord gave us a partner. It’s no wonder children-who are more confused now than ever-have no morals or values or peace in their life. Stress abounds. 😢

No, in many cases you are not done. You still get the money, you don’t get reprimanded, and you will continue to go on to more lucrative positions. I have not heard many cases where people ina. Powerful position truly get reprimanded or are “done”. More often than not it is the opposite as they have influence over others who can make them responsible for their mistakes. That is what we have taught these powerful people, they don’t have to care nor do they have to live to the same standards that they expect all others to follow, they are exempt and that is why they crave power. They don’t care about the responsibility, as it geôles them à far greater result than anything else.

That’s not true when it comes to a real partnership with two mature adults. I have friends where the man and women both are very successful in their careers and it’s not even what matters to them. They support each other and love each other and are there in the good and bad. That’s real love. Maybe initially of course you want to have attraction and foster that on both sides, but that is only a very small fraction of a real relationship.

I KNEW there was going to be A LOT of responsibility and decision making involved, and coming from a military background where i routinely made decisions involving potential loss in human life... figured i could handle it, no probs....granted i was Single w/ no kids when doing that. But now being a father, wonderful wife and family... i have an appreciation for wanting a job/career where you don't have to make many heavy decisions involving impacts to peoples lives (employment) and a companies' bottom line....would much prefer spending that mental energy on my loved ones.

True. Why would anyone want to be in that position? Because of incentives! That’s why people in power earn more. Because they have responsibility for their job and quite often for the job of others. They have to set the standard and have expectations while being empathetic and not being a complete asshole. If you’re not a psychopath and are in a position of responsibility, you spend most of the waking hours thinking about people you’re responsible for. Sometimes, when it gets rough, it keeps you up at night! But the incentive is there, so you do it.
