This series made me install WC3 again and do 2 games VS AI. I beat easy and normal, by following Grubby's build order guide, and all the tips from bronze league heroes! Orc of course :). I go farseer TC with grunts into raider kodo. That's complicated enough!

Re: Bronze players getting upgrades before the units, I think it comes from the campaigns accidentally teaching bad lessons. Since you typically start with some heroes and a decent army, you might as well tech/expo/creep before building more units and putting yourself in a higher upkeep category.

Hey Grubby just want to comment on the upgrade before unit thing. I used to think it would only apply on units that are made after it. I played AoE2 for so long when I was younger and thought the same thing until a few years ago. I used to sack units that were made before upgrades because of this as well. They may be thinking the same thing.

Can you or someone else explain the “attack move” tech he’s constantly mentioning?

Basically it's pressing A (or clicking the attack button, but really just use the hotkey) and then clicking on the area, not a unit. Just on the ground, so that your units will go to that place same as left click but they will automatically attack whatever's in their way. When you target an enemy with too many units selected, especially melee ones, they spend too much time chasing that unit when they could've been fighting whatever. Doing some damage, even if distributed between many opponents is better than doing no damage.

It is a strat, like any strat is has a place. Mass huntress is used in 2 match ups mainly iirc. Human and orc. It is generally a decent T1 pressure attack you kind of need to do damage with it.

Whenever I watch these videos I want to start playing 1 vs 1 but I fear losing all the fun of playing while "sweating/tryharding". I also can't decide which race to play primarily: - AoW creeping seems annoying to me - I always forget that humans can powerbuild, militia creep - I always forget to use Rod on Undead and in general I can't remember which unit counters which...

hey grubby quick question tree of life cant entangle a goldmine if opponent is mining from it. so in a real game, could you just send 1 worker to long distance mine "just before the tree of life finishes" ? could it be possible to delay NE expansion for the distance worker walks if 1 worker is carrying gold from its gold mine, i mean you are "technically mining" from it ?

Doesn't a worker actually need to be in the mine to stop mining? You need a close town hall and full worker saturation to get 100% uptime.

You don’t lose anything because you cancel the ancient of wonders immediately after buying an archer. It essentially just gives you temporary supply you can use to get another archer.

Wtf... It became so shaky all of a sudden at around 16mins. Was he using hotkeys camera? It triggered my motion sickness and made it unwatchable.

I think was holding left mouse on the minimap and moving, it's very sensitive

@@bjrnification I think he was using hotkeys as well. I can hear him press the keycaps in the background around 17mins. And, yes, I notice the holding of the mouse too. Both contributed to it.
