First off, I would like to thank you and @Doxymeister for your service. Secondly, I would like to thank you both for confirming my thoughts. It has ALWAYS been the folks, like the one that posted that comment, who have been the ones crying about how bad words hurt them. I'm not sure if it's because I'm old, or what, but being called names or people saying anything about me, never bothered me in the least. I was taught at a young age, "Sticks and stones", but I was also taught to treat people the way I wanted to be treated. Once ANY type of restrictions are put on speech, it erodes the 1st Amendment. Hate speech laws because it hurt someone's feelings? LOL, poor things. I do, however, think that NO teacher should be allowed to post on social media under their name, as to express their political, sexual or religious views. It is my opinion, that those things should be kept private when you are being paid to shape young minds. Do a search on KZbin for: "I was offended - Steve Hughes". There are millions more who did , & lost some of their abilities permanently , just so you could continue to live in peace . That was a selfish statement , unbecoming of the sacrifice We made , for you to have the ability to choose , & vote at all . I see a trend today , where a few have decided what the rest of America should be able to think , do , or say . I pray you never get your way . That is not a democracy , it's a dictatorship . No love for women who serve?
@curtisboswell26192 ай бұрын
@@scallopohare9431 ALL who serve, and ALL those who HAVE served, should be treated with respect. Some served because they were drafted, and had no other choice. Some served out of a sense of duty. All of them raised their arms to the square, and gave the 'this we'll defend' oath, and then served their term. I have among my many veteran friends, several women, who served proudly. Back when I wore the uniform, women were just beginning to become integrated into the Army, in a non-medical capacity. They were mechanics, truck drivers, cooks, air-traffic controllers... among so many other things. Today, in the United States Army, a woman can be anything she wants to be. Granted, some MOS's are far more of a challenge to women, than others... but that doesn't limit their ability to serve honorably, and admirably. Just because the poster you're responding to never mentioned women specifically, didn't mean that person was snubbing women's service to their country. They were speaking of veterans in general, I'm sure. We need to stop looking for ways to be offended, whenever someone posts an opinion. If you'll notice, the poster wrote 'next time you're out, and see someone getting out of a car with vet plates-thank them'. . . They weren't gender specific, nor gender exclusionary in that statement. I guess you're butt-sore about the 'If you see a man with a hat showing a branch or campaign, thank him'. . . because they didn't type 'man or woman'. SMH. DO BETTER. Instead of lauding the person's post, as beneficial for veterans, you had to get offended, because they didn't specifically mention women. If my 'sisters' want the attention, then trust me they know how to get it. If I think that the good women of this country who have honorably served, are being done wrong? You can get your ASS that I'll be raising hell with whomever over it. This poster wasn't 'neglecting' lady vets by design.

They askthe man in front of her, and the man in back. See, veterans are eligible for all kinds of special programs, but only if they have the opportunity to apply. It matters, too. As a veteran, I Fought for the Right for this teacher to say whatever he wants. That being said, saying this about a veteran who may have PTSD is considered Hate speech, which is Not protected under the 1st Amendment. Unfortunately, this happened in Boston, so I doubt anything will be done.

I'm a Marine combat vet who voted for Trump. I also got a 4.0 on my bachelor's degree in psychology and I've been crying tears when I laugh at all of you fraudulent, virtue signaling liberals crying all over the internet.

That teacher has ever right to say ANYTHING he wishes " Even hurtful things", It's called the 1st Amendment. BUT he has to live with the consequences. Which should include being put out there for everyone to judge him. Most people will treat him as he should be treated

The teacher should have the guts of his convictions, and show his face

Freedom of speech is still a right and let’s everyone see who you truly are, now we get to see whether his employee decides he should remain a teacher at that school or district🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
