Pizza Hut was great when you could sit down, go to the salad bar, pay to play arcade games, and before that fast food 5-dollar deal war. This is when they actually used a heavy deep dish to cook the pizza and used real cheese that actually stretched. Now it's on par with the shit you get at 7-11 in America.

Growing up in SE Asia, I remembered Pizza Hut didn't have a certain smell, but most chain pizzas seem to have a certain taste that's hard to describe. I don't look at the taste or smell nostalgically but the Pizza Hut in a number of SE Asian countries have the all your can eat buffet. I remember you ate on actual plates with cutlery and there's the range of pizzas you can choose from, a standard pasta and a salad bar. When I moved to Australia, I was disappointed that they don't have the buffet and you can only get takeaway pizzas in boxes. To be fair though the pizzas did taste better in Australia.

As a fellow Brit, back in my teenage years: Domino's was the best and easiest to get as delivery Papa Johns was the one you get when you were on a budget Pizza hut was the worst and most expensive Nowadays however: Domino's is now the worst (and the most expensive unless you are buying for a group) Papa John's is still decent and has the best side options Pizza hut is oddly enough, now the best (At least in my area)
