The idea that "You are not pressured to answer immediately" is so underrated and valuable. It gives me time to make that structure in my head before I speak.

Yup, gotta always think before you speak first. Even with spontaneous speaking, if you can use one of these frameworks, they can change the game for articulation.

I can make a joke response to anything in sub-zero seconds, with the most difficult associations and funny puns and such, and everyone will (sincerely) laugh. But if I try to explain a larger theme, I'm often grapsing for words, even though I have the whole concept in my mind.

I think this relates to the System 1 and System 2 thinking model proposed by Daniel Kahneman. When thoughts are immediate (in your case), they’re much easier to deliver because our brains can think about something almost immediately. (System 1) When thoughts are slower and need to thought through, we need to spend more time thinking about our delivery and presentation. (System 2) Just my hypothesis though
