It is incredibly catchy, but I think not accurate to the question she is asking. Like, Newton didn't explain where gravity came from, but his equations described how it worked and affected the world. Economics doesn't explain where demand comes from, but is meant to explain how demand impacts us, with the supply and demand graphs showing how it should move. Of course, physics assumes perfectly spherical cows with no friction, and econ graphs do similar for money, so yeah it feels really disconnected from anything in reality.

It doesn't require as much risk from the artist so it feels, to me, like a great way to allow fans with slower internet connections to still get a piece of whatever it is. And let's be real: some products have truly niche appeal and shouldn't be permanently clogging up the merch shop for an artist.

Or, if you are becoming an ad yourself, to say it (which is becoming increasingly common these days with the commoditication of one's life, experiences and feelings). The lines are beginning to be blurred so much that the audience / consumers might be taken advantage of and become confused even if they're smart... "As someone who is in Europe" kinda just begs the question... Why are the things you want not in Europe? The easy answer is of course because were hermits and live exclusively on the internet which is America centric. But the question still happens right? Every time I hear someone talk about "boosting the local business" they almost always mean boosting the local business in America, supporting that infrastructure. Never seen anyone talk about supporting locals in a foreign country because that's... just a thing people do anyway because people in foreign countries are either somehow magically fiscally responsible or they are the international business owners who don't have to give a crap... right? As an academic librarian who is often responsible for helping students learn how to research, this is the kind of product that I would include in my required books list (if they let me teach a whole course on research, which they do not... yet)! 3. If you are looking for collaborators in the future, I highly recommend reaching out to your local college/university libraries and library & information science schools/departments (try the iSchool at U Toronto, or I can recommend someone at the iSchool at UBC and at a few US and UK institutions). When asked what they teach you in library school, I usually summarize it as “how to research” - we spend a lot of time thinking about how people search/find, choose, and use information. Research process stuff is VERY relevant to our interests!

This is likely overlooked because you don't want to 'use' your fans - which is what we respect. Just simply your attitude of (1) email is exactly why we support you. I think the digital download is great! I tend to use an Ereader digital notebook and a pdf is perfect for this! very excited for this!

I just love how this video starts with "How does limited products sell?" and the answer is storytelling, which is acually what you arr always doing taking us with you on your curiosity quests. Le product is very original and we know, maybe now more than ever, how important it is to learn how to realky do one's own research. Joking aside, this is a great idea. Just learned about it now because I've discovered your channel just yesterday and I'm just binging the channel's history.

I'm sad to miss out on a physical copy, this sounds like the type of journal I would love. I was ready to buy immediately at up to $35, and I'd probably start buying one per project if the price was closer to $20-$15. I'm still considering the digital download.

Libraries aren't just an internet you can touch, they are internet you can touch filled with guides to get you good information. Though idk if Sabrina used any reference librarians
@pablopereyra71262 жыл бұрын
(Good) libraries are underrated in my opinion. Sure people might say "but the internet has all the information in one place for easy access" no it freaking doesn't. Maybe it did in 2002, when there were like 12 websites in total, but nowadays if you want to do research on something more specific than a Wikipedia article (no hate to that project, I can't count how many school asignments it got me through), a library often takes the win.
@theotherohlourdespadua11312 жыл бұрын
@@pablopereyra7126 My problem with libraries is that they are not made equal (some libraries are better than others) and they don't exist in all places. Imagine being a researcher and found out that the reference you are looking for is located two provinces and one city away and you HAVE to fill in some paperwork because that is what the library requires, and sometimes the library can straight up say no for any reason it sees fit. So, the internet is pretty much more favored by the general public due to being available all the time and being easy to use (as long as you know where and what to type)...
@nicitha2 жыл бұрын
Don't touch the librarians! (But do ask them good questions, they know so much).
@danicajenck40942 жыл бұрын
@@theotherohlourdespadua1131 Let's not forget to mention that some people are privileged to be able to visit 5 or more libraries near where they live for research regardless of whether that research is academic in nature or not. Additionally, if you want to do academic research and aren't formerly associated with an academic institution by either taking classes or working there, good luck getting access to the databases and other resources available to you for free.
@andersonneil22932 жыл бұрын
@@theotherohlourdespadua1131 But if it exists on the open internet then you can just get it there and the librarian in question should tell you that. The point is, for the most part, you are probably missing the entire scope of the question and librarians help with that. Its far too easy to see a glimpse of the question and go "that's my answer" but really it's just a tree in the forest.

To be completely honest, it doesn't really make sense to make something like this a limited edition product, because now most people that want it regardless of it being limited, like me, can't buy it. I, personally, don't care that it's limited. I'd like it for it's functionality. Anyone that bought it and used it front to back, also can't buy another one, which kind of defeats the long term purpose of the design. I think ordering more stock for this one would be good for recurring customers, then making a new fancy design for the limited edition version, which is what most companies do.

I've always found your videos fascinating. In the year or so that I've been subscribed to your channel, the quality of each video has improved so much! And I have to say, this one is just 💋👌 Having ADHD, I often lose interest and attention watching most videos. This video, though.. I had to pause 6 min in just to leave this comment (before I forget, of course). It's the scene changes without disrupting the quality of dialogue, the variety of media used from one scene to the next (the inclusion of graphs and other visuals, video calls, and the different types of camera used for recording) that continues to capture and re-capture my attention, and I just really needed to express that to you. So uh, yeah! You do great things, continue to do great things, and I look forward for future videos- and, well, the rest of this video. **coughs**

I buy clothes from second hand stores, where everything is unique, so I understand the limited edition pressure. usually I need at least a couple of days to decide if I actually want to buy something. but sometimes I can't resist the urge to get an item before it is sold out... that's why I have like six coats, although I only wear one...

One of the few times a limited drop appeals to something I think would be super helpful as someone in the midst of starting a large project and highly prefers physical note-taking… and it’s sold out a couple hours after the video goes live.

Demand from a business standpoint comes from an idea or lack of options or solutions to potential or perceived problems in our society. Demand from a personal perspective comes from a want or need to have something that you may think enhances your life be it through personal growth or personal/shared entertainment, novelty or social reasons. To be show that you identify as part of community, or just to show appreciation to the person or persons involved like some form of silent solidarity. I buy games because I value the entertainment, I make educational games because kids all over are struggling and there needs to be options out there that address making education more fun for young ones. I am making choices for what users need/want but some of those choice come from data that is either direct or indirectly gathered for x amount of time. I make personal games to just showcase something I enjoyed or missed now that i'm an adult and don't have as much free time as i did when i was a kid. Other times I create something and put it out hoping that people will want to gain a little more insight into who I am or what i have to say. Maybe they will want to hear more about and learn from my life and my stories. Sometimes we make/buy to belong sometimes we make/buy to be heard, and Sometimes I just need to buy a wall charger because my computer will die if i don't buy one. i love your channel and i hope you keep it going as long as your happy with it.

The science behind limited editions is very simple actually, When the human mind thinks something will leave their grasp they get more anxious just to get it. You could sell your own used toilet for a few thousand and call it limited and someone will buy it. In other words its a corporate strategy to give them that dough.
