I’m a 73 year old woman, who is a huge Ryan Gosling fan! But Nicholas Galatzine has totally captured my fandom! Watched all of his movies and his charisma is electric! This is a cute review of The Idea of You. And the reviewer is right. Nicholas Galitzine is the major reason to watch this movie multiple times. He is so good at giving us the little tidbits of expression that seem very personal and also very subtle. So they seem completely spontaneous, and not scripted for the audience. He is excellent at listening in a scene, and reacting to his scene partner. His lines never seem memorized or learned. Anne Hathaway is also so good in this movie. I was totally onboard with Solene falling for Hayes Campbell. She was living an OK life without sexual enjoyment or intimacy. But he tapped into her need for that and she couldn't resist. (Who could resist him?) I hope Nicholas does more RomCom films. He is just perfect as the guy who knows how to love a woman.

Thankyou Sittinpretty. Your vlog is very comforting for me as I have watched The Idea of You multiple times and never seem to tire of it. For me it is the vulnerability of the Hayes character at the start when he talks to Solene. As he's been in a sort of cocoon in the boyband, his education and learning is somewhat lacking in many areas and Solene naturally has trust issues due to her errant husband. I also read the book, but did not enjoy it as much as the film I also liked Nicholas Galatzine in Purple Hearts, but in his Hayes role, I agreed with all the points you made; Nick is lovely.. The only other films I have watched multiple times are like another lady :The Notebook,. I also loved After with Hero, and Officer and a Gentleman with Richard Gere. I’ve watched the film a couple of times but admit to watching the last scene from the ‘five years later’ a few times because I love the song and how it captures their relationship …and when ‘Hayes’ walks into the gallery, he does look five years older compared to where the film started. Their chemistry is palpable and probably due to their kissing being what it is! I respect both actors for what they brought to this film as I am an older woman and admire the theme. I have a younger husband and there’s often been playful comments about the age gap…but men never get negative feedback, do they? The story was about two people who resonated over time …and let’s face it, it was a romance movie. But I was believing by the last scene that he had matured and was ‘worthy’ of Solène. And it is a lovely story because it does offer a sense of joy and escapism. And that is okay! 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ

The book is so much better. I've reread the book many times(audible) and watched the movie many times. 😂

Nick had chemistry with Taylor Zakar Perez in Red White and Royal Blue and Sophia Carson in Purple Hearts. If I was to rate his chem level with costars it would be 1. Taylor Zakar Perez 2. Sophia Carson 3. Anne Hathaway
