I see, from this video, that willpower is not the key to quitting. Very informative, clear, and logical.

I agree to all you said. Thank you for making me understand. Mind power not will power. Don't desire cigarette.

Biggest mistake I ever made, was to quit smoking. I got fat. I gained 140 pounds overnight. I struggled with diets and exercise but they don't work. I went from a slim 135 pounds up to a massive pot belly 275. That's right, I almost made it to 300 pounds. I quit with willpower, it was tough but I managed. One day I decided I was not going to smoke anymore, and I stuck to my decision, for about a year. But after women laughed and rejected me to my face for being fat, that was it. I went back to 2 packs a day. So far I've lost about 25 pounds and I expect I'll have to smoke for 2 or 3 years to bring all of my weight down. If I have to choose between being a slim smoker or a fat nonsmoker, then I'll take the slim, any day. I don't care a hoot about the problems of smoking, if it keeps my weight off. I should have never quit smoking, in the first place.

Maybe you shouldn't have started smoking in the first place 😂

I’d be interested in learning WHY tobacco companies found adding rat poison, acetone etc. .. was useful. Like are those chemicals More addictive than the plant itself?🧐
@SamanthaIreneYTube2 жыл бұрын
They don’t actually add those things. The same chemicals that are found in things like rat poison, urine, etc are used in the pesticides and fertilizers or are created from a chemical process of fermentation of the leaves as they dry prior to burning. Urea (found in urine) for example is an industrial fertilizer used to improve crop yields.

Will power is like a working muscle but does it not work with mind power? ---Changing Emotions has to be started with will-power, right?????

Smokers don't have a weak willpower. Frank Haddock's 1907 willpower is a weak idea!
@CBQMethod4 жыл бұрын
True! Smokers don’t have weak willpower but as we explain in the video willpower is good for immediate actions and not enough for long term changes.
@gingerlori524 жыл бұрын
@@CBQMethod-Like a Picasso, the willpower is an abstract. We can't put our finger on it because abstracts are fluid and always changing.
@CBQMethod4 жыл бұрын
@@gingerlori52 We can't put our finger in many things like energy, thoughts, or even gravity but we can measure the impact those abstract things have on the physical world. Same thing with willpower, we don't have to put a finger on it to measure its impact.

Quitting is not supposed to be "easy". Willpower alone can get one to quit and the journey is arguably worth it

I am a bit confused? In this video you state that this is how you stopped? But in your ted talk you state you learned this by helping another?
