Faye, just wanted to let u know that I’ve been using many of ur tips these past 2 months. And here’s my progress so far... 1). I was a S grade student and now I can confidently say I’m almost at a B🥰 2). My teacher had almost given up on me, but a few weeks back he personally talked to my mom and told her that I was improving a lot. 3). Ever since lockdown started back in 2020 I got used to this bad habit of sleeping at around 4am and waking at 1pm next day😔 but after I watched ur video abt waking up at 4am everyday, I started sleeping around 10pm and waking up at 4am:) (it was really hard at first but now I wake up with no problem and get all my work done) So thank u so much😭❤️ u changed my life and I’m so grateful for that😭 wishing u all the best for ur future sister:) trust me u have so many great things ahead of u:))

I’m often told that a B isn’t a bad grade, but I can’t help but feel disappointed in myself when I receive one… especially when I only got Bs on all my exams. Honestly, I probably spent more time studying than sleeping (which was probably my biggest mistake). But the things I did during that time were similar to what you explained. I mostly answered the review questions, retook past tests (to practice my active recall), and timed myself (to practice time management). I honestly believe my biggest problem is test anxiety, being so anxious I can barely sleep the night before an exam, which prevents me from being able to think clearly and decreases motivation and confidence. Do you have any advice regarding this?
@al3x._XDDD Жыл бұрын
I can relate, however I got a C+ twice for Math and I just felt so disappointed and it didn't help that my parents weren't happy about it. I got the second highest mark in my class but I overthought it and now I feel like I'm bad at Math even though I keep trying to convince myself and others that I'm "good" at it. It just upsets me :(
@Sam_Wilson Жыл бұрын
I feel this as well. My anxiety peaked a few semesters ago (to the point where I was getting panic attacks when I thoughts about and studied for the tests). One of my profs was nice enough to get me my own room for one of the tests and I found that helped quite a bit. I really wish professors, and universities in general, would recognize people's stress/anxiety more and be more thoughtful in addressing/helping us with it. Just know that you (and the others reading) are not alone and you can still do well! Get all the help you can. If you have something like, what is called at my school, Center for Accessible Learning (CAL) I would suggest talking to them and getting accommodations if possible. Like where/when you take your tests, for example.

I'm so happy you posted this, I'm so lost since I got a terrible grade and that brought my average to 68 in AP Biology. I'm going to try to use your study tips and see if it works! I'm so frustrated and angry about how I got this average when I studied for the unit test for a whole week.

My problem is that no matter how much I study and practice I always mess up in exams. Like i forget the basic concepts and mess up easiest questions, EVEN THE ONES THAT I HAVE ALREADY PRACTICED!. I just completely forget everything. My parents and teachers don't believe me and say that I don't study hard but I am trying as hard as I can 😢

I feel like Faye has been repeating the same thing over and over again as it’s quite important for us to really keep ourselves away from a bad attitude, it is hard but thank you Faye for mentioning that we have to be discipline to thrive in life. All the best in Monash uni too! You’re d best 🧠😎

Hi there...I am a person who started studying the very first day of a new academic year...i studied with the classes daily unlike many others..in between i lose track and when the exms came, I started to prepare 2 weeks before, while many others where wandering. 2 days before the exam, I saw my friends seaching for the topics to study..I revised the chapters i studied and prepared day and night.When the results came, I was shocked to see my very low marks, I had to burst in tears and then prepared for the next upcoming exams..and do you know,after many exams, at last I ended up in writing a remedial exam to get internal marks for writing the final exam😔..now I am preparing for my final exams, and thus came across this video...I hope you will save me...wish me luck🙂🙏

this actually makes sense. In high school, this is the mistake and habit I did last year, Even though you're studying but still, your result is still bad compare to your friends. I'm starting uni next week and I going to try these methods you use in the video. I'm not gonna make the second mistake twice I did back then. Thank you so much for your advice :):):)

The majority of times I am quite happy with my results however sometimes I am not impressed but thanks to this wonderful video I realised I was passive studying, so hopefully in preparation for the new school year I'm going to try to learn some active recall techniques and master the "ideal" study methods for me so I can get all those A's (and maybe the occasional B or C 😅) I loved the video btw Faye!
