I found this video because I googled “why do I only attract abusive men?” I am so desperate to have some type of truth. I go to a therapist. I go to dv survival groups. But nothing has been working. This was the realist most eye awakening video I have ever seen. I needed to be told this so bad. Thank you so much.

The part about someone dismissing and gadlighting you causing you to be in the victim/perpetrator/rescuer role was so interesting. Thank you. X

The fact that he was right about everything. I mean EVERYTHING. Gave me validation that I don’t have anything wrong with me, I just need to fix this pattern. I thought something was super wrong with me always becoming infatuated by abusive men. I am not allowed to have my kids anymore because I have been in so many unsafe situations in these relationships. I have lost literally my entire life to this dynamic I created for myself. Hearing this healed me. So where do I go to start putting in the work to heal on your page? lol

So very helpful! I have really been upset as to why I have been finding myself in the same relationships for all these years. I realize I was looking for a rescuer each time and expecting them to make me "whole". I thank you for telling me that I have the capability and power to break this cycle. I have to take ownership of my life and become empowered to rescue myself.

Replay. I agree I was lacking in all those areas when I met my spouse. It took me years to get the education I have to have a semi decent job but still working on my career. As it has never been a ideal time to finish nursing school with him around.

I have hashimotos disease/hyperthyroidism and I’m exhausted. I’m going on disability. I went to school for medical billing and coding. I was in an abusive relationship for almost 10 years and he died. I dropped a 200 lbs deadbeat who’s abusive too. I’m in the drama triangle 😢

Hi! I hope you will read my comment) I am 35 years old at the moment with a 5 year old son. At 28 I got into a relationship with a narcissist who was 10 years older than me. At that time I was broke. Now years later after I got out of that relationship I became a very successful accountant, I am young, attractive, with higher education, my family is here, I have tons of friends. But I again got into a relationship with an abusive man who is 13 years younger than me. I don’t understand why :((
