When you said that there's an issue, I thought we were at last going to get down to the silly stuff with the second sun.Otherwise an interesting video, thanks!

This software is a good addition to something like Lightroom or just for more casual and quick editing. All suggested edits/filters should be toned down by about 80% so they don't feel too artificial as in some of the quick examples above. As for the sky replacement, I wouldn't use it myself but if I did I would make sure that the light in the clouds respects the sun's location. In the Louvre example the replaced sky indicates that sun should be behind the building on the right of the frame when in reality it's located behind the glass pyramid.

Seeing quite a few Luminar Neo reviews recently. Wouldn’t surprise me if they’re making a push to boost sales before they launch a completely new product they’ll sell separately. Leica uses this tactic, sending out cameras to creators 3+ years after release to revive interest in their remaining stock & then a new version of the camera is announced a few months later.

There are some overlapping features of Evoto. Which step do you apply all of your metadata/copyright data to the images? During culling using Photo Mechanic or LightRoom?

Luminar Neo has a plug-in for Lightroom. So you can just right-click from LR and edit in Neo. I use that workflow.

Question 8:20 you applied the effect to lol of them. Now if one of those happened to need a slight change, like not quite as much skin smoothing as the others. Can you single it out and change it without changing all of the others? Sorry I am new to this and not sure if I am asking the question well.

It depends on what you want to edit. Evoto is better for portraits, but Neo has more tools for a more comprehensive editing experience. I'd suggest you download Evoto and give it a try (it's 100% free to edit and export the first 30 images). www.evoto.ai/s/MarkWallace30 Luminar also has a brand new portrait editing tool called Aperty that's about to launch. They are offering a deep discount for the first 1000 licenses. That may also be of interest to you: skylum.evyy.net/c/63218/2040463/3255

Sky replacement. You're just twisting your own memories of when you were there taking the picture. Part of the photograph journey is to fail. The weather is sometimes against us. You as a photographer should expect it.

I agree , when I’m taking street/travel pix for my own benefit. What’s the point of AI in photography? It destroys the authenticity. However, as a paid professional I use some of the more subtle AI techniques in portraits, only for the client. I just don’t think AI benefits you at all if you’re trying to improve your photography. It’s like learning a new language by mastering Google Translate, lol!

I agree - if your goal is to document accurately, then it's not a tool that you would use. But not everyone is on the same journey. There are a lot of creators who like to focus on the post-production and digital art. They are doing something totally different, and for them, it makes sense. Different goals, different tools. There's enough room in the creative world for many paths and many interpretations.

Actually- FOR YOU, that’s the case; for the rest of us it’s a much wider spectrum of possibilities. To CREATE a shot- not letting the weather to dictate to us. We do the same thing with TIME; we distort its passage with ND filters!

@@tommynikon2283 yes, and it will be cheaper to sit in your home and buy the high resolution pictures from the internet store and then replace the sky and make up a story how hard it was to get that picture.

Edit in Luminar Neo and guess what, it is not for Pro work. It simply will not export a photo file if the pic has one side greater than a size of 15,000 pixels. All my files are big, so I have pics stuck in the App. Stitch together a Panarama and guess what, no way to get it out of Luminar. Upscale a pic and you may not be able to export it. AI is worthless to me if I can’t export the file to print. Terrible. Luminar Customer service truly sucks, no answers or work arounds.
