I prefer warmer ones that you can wear as an outer layer when the weather permits it. Also they layer under jackets way better than hoodies since no pocket and thers less tension around the neck

Longsleeve refers to the length of the sleeve and crewneck refers to the shape of the neck, they are not clothing types unto themselves. You can have a sweatshirt with long sleeves and you can have a tee shirt with a crewneck.
