My favorite console of all time is the 360,to this day it still has amazing graphics and a wonderful controller that fits like a glove in your hand.A great library of games and with the modern engines being designed in games with awesome 3rd party support this console would still be going strong even today.

Hey man, I just wanted to say thanks for these videos. I myself have been doing Xbox modding for many years, and did my first xenon jtag when I was 15, later owning a few dual nand consoles. I still have my original xenon jtag. When I was that age I was a little obsessive about the Xbox boot process. Reading as many forum posts and read almost every page from the free60 wiki. I actually had my console reballed with lead solder (lead free solder is very brittle, prone to cracking under heat stress) I used to mod Xbox 360s for some spare change when I was younger. I'd tell the people which parts to order, they would come to my place and I'd install it for them. I'm so happy to see someone like you with high quality production, and most importantly a passion for the mod scene and intellect.

@David Chatterton CPU/GPU temp are not the only causes for RROD. blown caps, shorted MOSFETs, cold solder joints, bad HDD, bad disk drive, bad update, all of these and much more may trigger RROD

@@nah7793 From my experience the open tray issues is because of the belt in the drive. I had the same issue on my Jasper box, but replaced the belt, and no more problems. Ebay for $1 USD each belt.

This is so strange. I started watching videos about the original xbox today to see if I could add some neat emulators and software to my own. Then I saw my 360 in the corner of my room and wondered what kind of mods and homebrew stuff exists for it. I already know how much stuff there is for the original xbox, so I wanted to see what was possible with the 360. I search for it on KZbin, but couldn't find any modern videos about it. Everything was either years old or guides about how to do very specific things. So I quickly give up on that and continue watching videos about the original xbox instead. Then out of nowhere, this pops up and it's EXACTLY what I was looking for and uploaded less than an hour ago. How cool is that? Haven't finished the whole video yet but so far this is just wonderful. Really appreciated, thanks!

not all of them could be modded though. yes, the majority can be; you are only unlucky if yours is made after 2014/july. anyway these mods existed since he end of 2011... so nothing new here ;) the ps3 is better in some ways as there is a new mod for it that works on all machines, called ps3exploit. Emulators, retro gaming, everything works, and (homebrew) stuff is still being developed for it, which could not be said of the 360.

Since every console can emulate each others games and all you need is a stick of gum to mod them for free games, I don’t see the need to own an Xbox 360 physically if you own an Xbox One and an Xbox OG. I don’t see the point in owning a PS2/PS1/PSP if you own a PS3/Vita/PS4. Lol

Gather 'round children. Gather, and listen to my tale of the journey to own a modded Xbox 360 in 2018. So I thought this would be a fun thing to have. I decided to try a DIY job of it, and I learned some VERY important lessons about them. 1. No one seems to care about the Xbox 360 in 2018. The modding community is tiny, and compared to the PS3 and OG Xbox community, pretty uninformed about how to do it. Team Xecuter seems to have abandoned it, so there's not really anyone trying to make it better. 2. Modding tools were designed way back in the Windows 7 era. Drivers and tools struggle to work in Windows 10. 3. Phat consoles are all destined to die. ALL OF THEM. I bought a Jasper, the supposedly most durable, and it died in 3 days. Slims are overpriced as all hell if you get them pre-modded, and if you even THINK about modding one yourself, refer to 1 and 2. The few good guides out there are riddled with outdated instructions and compatibility issues. I bought a Zephyr. After failing to find any information on a reliable way to flash it, I decided to keep it stock and buy a Jasper in a MW2 special edition Super Elite. It arrived with busted plastic, no power supply, and after following all modding instructions to the letter, and no solder bridges or bad connections, it RROD'd and died anyway. I still have plastic coming in the mail for a dead motherboard, a Zephyr I consider past-date milk, and still no modded console. After the living hell I've went through trying to get my hands on a modded Xbox 360 you couldn't GIVE me one of these damn things. By all intents and purposes they seem to be haunted by a gypsy curse, and if I were to ever touch one everyone I love would probably spontaneously die.

My Xenon and Jasper already got the RROD years ago. I opened them, and removed the heat sinks and removed the stock thermal paste using the arctic 5 acetone remover then reapplied new arctic 5 thermal paste. Air cleaned the inside of the system... Both are still working ever since.

There are actually two main types of Xbox 360 mods. A) Custom DVD drive firmware to play burned games. B) JTAG/RGH modchip to execute homebrew software.

Mupen-360 is a port of Wii64 (mupen64 0.5 port to GameCube/Wii). It's using the dynarec we wrote for the GameCube/Wii and there were some bugs at the time gligli ported it to the Xbox 360 (which is why Conkers Bad Fur Day and Turok 2 are broken). Might be worth me taking a stab at updating it if I can easily set up libxenon as there have been a number of improvements since.

I had my original 360 flashed back in the day. My buddy did it for me no charge. It allowed my 360 to run games that he ripped off the internet. Charged me $10 for games. Unfortunately, the games would crash occasionally. He warned me tho. "Do not get on Live"

I'm surprised that you didn't mention the Pcsx-R 360 Original Playstation emulator for Xbox 360. The compatibility is amazing and it uses pixel shaders, scanlines, a dynamic recompiler, savestates, you name it. It's probably the best emulator available on the system right after FBA Next. It plays full speed, and pretty much runs any game you throw at it perfectly. As a matter of fact, it's so good that the emulator that this is ported from, Pcsx Reloaded, is the emulator used in the playstation classic console!!

The Xbox 360 was released in 2005, they were trying to compete more with Sony. They rushed out units and didn’t focus on production quality which is why the red ring of death issue exists in the first place. Although, in some regions it did release in 2006.

Considering that you can get modded X360 for a bit over 100 euros with controller, HDD, PSU buying PC for such a low price is waste of money and even 20 dollars at such a low budget is a big price increase.

It's so cool to be seeing many of the games I played when they were released. I owned NES, SNES, PS, N64, and PS4 with free mcboot however I threw a party and things got kinda hairy......someone threw a beer bottle through my fish tank which flooded down into my ps4..... > Then i got busy with life and put gaming to the side. Man I remember when Super Mario Bros 3 was released and it was so popular that it couldn't be found anywhere. My Pops chased it down and gave it to me under the condition that I did all my homework. Later I ended up getting a XB360 which I couldn't resist taking apart. I used Jungle Flash on it's Ben-q drive. That probably tells you I got into the modding scene late for the 360. But It bricked. Oh well.

It's not his emulator. Anybody can get it for free, so whoever is buying it is dumb. Nobody should be selling emulators, or modding systems for money anyhow. That's why there are so many videos of how to do it for free. Spread the word, don't buy ROMs, ISO's, CSO's, Emulators, or modded consoles they are fee if you just look for a few minutes you'll find what your looking for, and how to do it yourself.

Wiis are great little machines, get an older model and you can run wii and gc games off an external hard drive, and a 32gb sd card will hold most of the nes snes genesis gba gb/c etc. library and the pro controller can be bought cheaply, i got a pair of them for $10

I use a tiny Raspberry Pi with an Xbox 360 wireless receiver, playing 2-player games wirelessly with Xbox 360 controllers on my big TV. Good for most games but way smaller, super easy to set up and lower power so leave running 24/7

Yeah you can use a stealth server but you'll get a lot of hate as I was a modder and I quit recently but I would recommend using NiNJA or xbOnline. NiNJA is expensive for it's stealth and xbOnline is just as good for like half the price. But you will have to worry about a KV (Keyvault) Seller whenever you get console banned. They're are a lot of scammers out there and the one I normally wen't to to buy KVs from was @CheapKVs on Instagram. He sells them cheap unlike a lot of other sellers sell them for like $6 for 1 but then again there are only so many KV's as you can't make or generate them. But no you really don't need a console in 2018 waste of money you will be putting so much money into your stealth and KV's for what? A good 2 month fun of modding? People say "You'll be able to make money off of modding" not anymore as no one buys because too many people scams and they're a lot of free modders.
