You are a nice, funny and humble guy / engineer. I learned / learned a lot from all your videos. I will start studying for Civil engineering degree in one of the best universities in Sweden this autumn. I am currently reading first semester in social works but do not like working with different people who have different problems and plus with lower salary for more than 30 years. I have never worked in the construction industry in my life and it gives me fear. The reason I want to study this education is that I like design and drawing houses and I am a bit creative person and plus the education is international and would like to work in the US or any other country in the future. Do you have any advice and tips against my fears or choices? ? Thanks :-)

Totally agree with you. Just sent this video to all my friends and family so they can appreciate me more (I'm also a civil engineer) 😂

I mean as a Engineer I disagree about the grey area theory. I am not sure about other majors, but there would be a lot of grey areas in EEE. How one engineer approach a problem could be completely different than one another, while both could be equally valid approaches. And whether a fault is caused by the error on embedded software engineer or us is also a debate the existed on every project since software engineering came to existence. Also I would like to add that I absolutely hate math, and simulation software and approximations are my best friend :)

Hi Kienen, I was wondering what I should specialize in as a civil engineer if I like creative work. Would a major in architectual or urban planning and design be a good choice?

I've heard that water resources in the public sector is pretty fun and requires creativity (somewhat)

Omg the last part about learning something...since marrying my husband I’ve learned that blue cat’s eyes indicate a fire hydrant, there are survey markings in the roads, and the list goes on. He’s amazing at science and math but can’t seem to figure out that a piece of chicken doesn’t need to be stored in a gallon sized ziploc bag. #booksmart #notregularsmart 😂

I work in an office with both Architects and Engineers and come from an Architecture background, myself. In working with the Engineering side, they weren't as big on the 'analyze' bit, especially when it came to how to present information. I'd share my thoughts on how to improve and they felt I was being really critical. My thought was that maybe, given their engineering background, they're used to that 'one answer' bit, and so when I'd share thoughts on improving, it was seen as me telling them they were wrong. Of course, maybe I was too critical! Or maybe because it's more in the 'soft skill' area, they just treated it like clothes and didn't see any worth to trying to improve that portion!

Could be all of that! Thanks for sharing!
