Why You NEED Notion Calendar… But I Don’t

Nice video, Dem. I think we need to step back and think about tasks as a concept. Our way of thinking needs to be refined before we delve into any software tool. Now, what is a task? Why do we need to define a task? I have developed a new way of thinking lately. Your main concern is accomplishing a great thing in life, which we technically call a "project," right? Then, the normal next step for most people is to break down that "project" into smaller parts, which we call "tasks." We then take those "tasks" and schedule them or distribute them among our partners. Sounds right? But the question I want to ask is, why do we care about scheduling "tasks"? That part makes me feel overwhelmed most of the time. Imagine having so many tasks in front of you from many projects. Wouldn't that make you feel that your focus becomes deviated, even if just a little bit? Wouldn't it be cool if we just scheduled the entire project as time blocks rather than individual tasks? Keep that task list in the background somewhere inside your project, distribute those pieces however you like, but I've started to hate micromanaging everything. I feel the process of working is so fluid in nature and does not need to be very defined. When I started to think like that, I began to see how I can effectively utilize software without demanding so many microfeatures.

I've been dreaming of a calendar with tasks in the sidebar, and I love Cron it's so pretty (I'm not that busy I focus on pretty :D), but the fact that you have to leave the calendar and go to Notion to tick a task done? Noooooo. Also no monthly view on mobile and no iPad app :( They could have done a little better. And let's not forget that they didn't even think about an outlook integration, when many people use that for work

I wonder if they actually asked any users at all what they needed. I’ve stuck with Notion since the cron acquisition, but I am so tired of being disappointed.

With the latest release from Morgen calendar with a brilliant Notion integration, I see zero reason to consider Notion Calendar.

Demetri, have attempted a couple of times to email you and your company about your GTD template guide without a response. I would suggest if you’re going to sell a notion template and advertise a usage guide, that the guide actually be complete and not just a shell without information. Furthermore if you’re intending to take the business seriously, responding to emails goes a long way.

@@DemetriPanici I can appreciate that you ‘can’t find’ my emails where I replied to your email from last April, however I’ve bumped my email for the 3rd time yet no response from you or anyone from your staff. My feedback in my email was candid and just looking for guidance as you are selling templates with ‘template guides’ that are labeled WIP and purely placeholder text. At this stage of your lack of responses / comments that you’ve not received my emails and lack of any changes to the template guides that I’ve emailed you about including screenshots, I’ll assume you have no intentions of responding or addressing the WIP guides for templates you’re selling. Please correct me if I’m wrong and I’ll happily edit my comment accordingly. Thank you,
