Seems like a surprisingly solid option. Better than I expected from Powkiddy. Great video!

Far better than I expected from Powkiddy. Initially I was forcing myself to carry it for a couple weeks thinking it was going to be just another 3566 device. Like it a lot more than I thought I would

Thanks for your time here. I have one of these. I'm quite impressed with it too. It has an excellent size screen. The console is quite light and comfortable. It's pretty good for PSP. I stretch PS1 games so that they're just a bit wider than 4:3 - you have to experiment with scaling eg 3:2 is a bit too wide.. Great advice re keeping a copy of the OS or even your already set up SD1. You never know how things will go these days...

The thing about it not knowing the correct battery percentage, never finishing charging or the battery meter teleporting between say like 20% and 85% instantly is such a PowKiddy (maybe JELOS?) trademark. I have this device and the RGB30 and both suffer from the exact same thing. I also have the Anbernic RG353V also with JELOS and even tho its not as bad as the PowKiddy devices, the percentage also gets "stuck" for a bit before updating. When I boot into Android on the Anbernic it represents the battery charge absolutely perfectly. However the Anbernic doesn't do the thing of "never finishing charging" that PowKiddy does. JelOS on Anbernic might mess up the percentage but the device finishes charging correctly. So this is really a mix of buggy battery widgets on JELOS + extremely buggy PowKiddy charging hardware controllers. PowKiddy will keep feeding it's own stereotype of messy hardware I guess. On an additional note, I switched to ArkOS on my RGB30 recently and never noticed this weird behaviour. I need to test it more but I'm still confused on who to blame, jelos or powkiddy
@CellPhish8 ай бұрын
Very good observations. I use ArkOS on my RG353V so I’ve never seen this battery issue before. I’ve never been the biggest fan of JelOS and have used ArkOS whenever it’s available. I’m hoping ArkOS picks up these 3566 devices otherwise they will be I e devices without an operating system now that JelOS no longer supports 3566 devices. Thanks for your input

Hello! Greetings from Chile, I loved the video, I'm thinking about buying my first console, I'm between this one, the x55 and the Anbernic RG353ps, which one would you recommend? I am not a regular buyer, I appreciate your response
@CellPhish6 ай бұрын
This is going to come down to what games you are going to play and how you will use the handheld. The 353ps is great for a handheld that is reliable and fits best in your Poe key of the 3. I prefer the RGB10MAX3 over the x55 for day to do. But if you want to stream your games and use something like gamepass the X55 is the only choice. I hope this helps

@CellPhish8 ай бұрын
I found the sticks weren’t calibrated correctly in Retroarch. Do you know if your problem is in Retroarch or a stand alone emulator? Have you tried going into the setting and re-mapping? I find sometimes it doesn’t guess the controller layout correctly and it sounds like it might have a diagonal mapped instead of a direction if that makes sense

Whats better? This or the anbernic rg351p or rg341xx h?
@CellPhish8 ай бұрын
That really depends on a lot of things like what do you want to play, screen size, firmware etc. I like the RGB10Max3 but on a daily basis I have the RG35XX-H because it fits in my pocket. RG351p is too expensive for a device slower than the 35XX-H so if you are debating that save money and get a better device e with the RG35XX-H. I have a few videos up on here with it including how to completely mod it if you want.

I wonder If you are having some problems with the PSP emulator and the left joystick? Because even tho I tried to change the sensitivity and settings, the joystick sometimes will not go all the way to the right, or at least that's what the tester on PSP is showing. Other than that, they work perfectly in any other emulator.

I wouldn't call it an open source device. Having open source CFW doesn't make it open source in my opinion, the hardware is not open.

That’s fair. It is listed as an open source device but I understand the argument of the hardware being locked down. That being said these Chinese companies keep stealing each others IP so I’m surprised they open any part of them.

Zero point in having more than 1GB of RAM on a Linux device with this CPU. You will never ever need any more RAM for the systems this can and will emulate. Linux builds on these devices barely use any RAM so 95% of it is reserved for the emulator you are running
