Why You Need The FOBO Bike 2 TPMS | Cruiseman's Reviews

I have been using FOBO Bike 2 TPMS sensors for several years and have found them to be reliable and quite useful. I had them on my 2012 Goldwing and my Bushtec trailer. However, when I bought my 2018 Goldwing, I did not install them since the new Goldwing had an OEM TPMS system. However, I have now added them my 2018 Goldwing, and I will tell you why in this video.

This type of TPMS is an excellent invention. However, the $90 is an overkill to pay for this FOBO. You can get one for $30-$35 and it will have a little display/controller that you can put on a handlebar (or elsewhere) and monitor the pressure. It's just right there. No need the phone or to scroll thru the menus of the carplay. You can also switch to different measures like Barrs (if live in Europe), and it also shows the tire temps in F or C. In the winter the tires are warming up very slow. The main unit can be run on the internal battery or connected to a USB by provided cable. Before this I never knew the pressure and many times was riding below the normal until remembered to check. Yes, the battery on the tire cap is normally good for 1 year. After that the display won't show any numbers, so you know if to replace it. When replacing tires, I prefer to balance with the cap on. Not trying to downplay the FOBO, and I know many are using it, just want to share that there are other options for those who don't want to pay as much. Now, have you tried to compare this to the Honda's built-in TPMS and were any difference in numbers?

Ordered, thanks for the video. 2023 the pressure loss was only on the front tire, 2024 both tires are losing air. I could only check the current pressure with the portable electric air compressor. Lying under the Gold Wing before every ride and checking the tire pressure is a thing of the past. Thanks again for the video on the FOBO Bike 2. Great video.

Excellent review and demo Cruise. Absolutely correct about immediate tire pressure readings when the tires are cold and before you leave the house. A must if your are doing a good pre-ride inspection.

I bought them for my 2012 back when you first talked about them, and they're great! With my bike, it only tells you that you have a low tire, but not which one. Since I started using it, I've also had the factory units stop working (I'm assuming dead batteries). I used your video to turn off the idiot light for it: thanks for that, btw!

Have had these on my 2008 airbag model for a couple of years. I always check the tire pressure using these before I ride, which is what you state is a big benefit (I agree). I do mount my phone in front of me on the handlebars. I still use the original wired comm system (no Bluetooth), but would see and hear the alert because the phone is right in front of me while riding. Pressure readings are very accurate. Another very nice feature is the temperature function, where you can see that the pressure and temperature of the tires increases during a ride, especially the rear tire. There's also a graph function, so you can see pressure and temperature readings over time. This is a great product for the older wings without built-in TPMS.

Chris. There are security counter nuts that go ON THE VALVE STEM first - then screw on the sensors. Then use the plastic wrench to reverse the security screw tight. A bit more security. You can add 4 to your Lexis also.

Great job Cruiseman. I have the Fobo TPMS already but it was a necessity for me since I have a 2022 Goldwing Trike. Since the Honda rear wheel sensor is gone, all I had was the front wheel. I love the Fobo system because I can check my tires from my living room.

Hello Cruiseman! I'd like to add some information about the original Honda OEM tire pressure sensors. They are on and transmitting everytime, even if the motorbike isn't moving. The delay in showing the pressure data is from the motorbike's on-board computer. The OEM sensor also transmitts the tire temperature, but these data aren't evaluated by the on-board computer.

I have a 2021 6 speed bagger and it doesn’t show your tire pressure it just has a ! on the TPMS screen that means one of your tires has a problem. Seems to be kind of a strange way to cut corners on my bottom of the line Goldwing but I’m not much of a bean counter. This looks to be an excellent remedy. The Apple CarPlay really makes it for me!

I was hot on this model BUT, since I don't display my phone on my bike and it's only an audible alert for low pressure and Garmin (for reasons beyond my thinking capacity) doesn't have Apple drive or sensors for the Zumo XT....(SMH), I'd never know when a pressure is down. If it sent a text alert I could sync my iPhone to my Zumo XT then get the message that way. Hopefully FOBO reads this and considers adding text alerts. Thanks for the review, enjoy your channel.

I've had Fobo units on my ST1100 for years and like it that it has a FOB which I can affix somewhere on the bike to monitor the tire pressure while moving. I don't care for a phone app as I never put my iPhone on the handlebars. It's always tucked away in my riding jacket or a storage pocket while charging.

Just ordered one. 89.00, worth it. They do need to work on the battery life. Honda disappointed with the TPMS. It should be on, once the bike is on. Good video.

Good video, also wanted to let you know the FOBO app installs on an Apple Watch if you have one. So you can get an alert via your watch while riding as well. No need to have your phone mounted.

This is a much better product than the cheap versions on Amazon. I think they were slowly letting air pressure out of my motorcycle as I had to put air back in the tires every 2-3 days. Removed them and now add air maybe every 6-8 weeks. So beware of the knockoff version of this product!

Do you need them. Yes. I had them for my 2016 F6B. They worked well I had them just over a year they warned me of a low tire I took it off to air the tire and it fell apart in my hand. The company said they were over a year and they would replace them at a discount price. I am back to old school

Just ordered a set, I always check tire condition before I ride, but not normally the pressure each time, and several times after I’m all geared up and on the move… I get the low pressure light. And if your riding with friends it adds an extra stop right away for air top up. I was always concerned about the extra weight and that possibly causing a tire balance issue. Can someone confirm that the added weight doesn’t cause a balance issue, thanks.

Hi Chris. Thanks for this revue. I just ordered them for my "21GL1800BD. It will be so much better than the bike TPMS which won't display actual pressures (on The B model). You showed that with IOS you can display pressures on the bike screen. Will that feature also work with Android? Thanks.

Those are sehr teuer. Why would I buy those over a billig model. They look pretty cool and I like the idea of having them for my trailer, but I was shocked at the price. Most systems were in the $30 range including the actual display. I do like the carplay android auto aspect.

Hey, cruise, man. Any tips for trying to update the firmware on the sensors. I have four sensors and none of the firmware will update the app hangs every time. According to the documents on their website, you must update firmware with an IOS device I am on android. Therefore, it confuses me why the option to update and it goes through the process on an android device.
