I enjoy your videos. I have a suggestion for this kind of series though. Being a person who shoots video I understand why it's important to follow the 180-degree rule but since we're speaking of GoPros here, the ones with hypersmooth nontheless, it should be mentioned that for that particular feature to work properly the shutter speed needs to be much higher to avoid weird motion artifacts. In short, shooting with the 180-degree rule on a GoPro should either be done with the camera on a tripod or on a gimbal because hypersmooth isn't going to work properly. Regardless of that, I always like seeing a video of yours, positive vibes are soothing. See you around man

Hi David. I just watched your PolarPro ND Video and I completely agree with all of your comments. I think that once you attach the mounting frame, you will leave it on. I also agree that Polarpro should develop a sacrificial UV filter and protective filter (lens) cap. I also agree with your comments in respect of the case. PolarPro commented that "While we have not been provided with any information at this time indicating whether any of these ideas are in development, we'd be happy to pass along your interest to our development team for consideration", so I guess we have to watch this space. Hey David, I got myself a GoPro Hero 8 more than a year ago. Now I'm getting myself into these ND filters which I need for low shutter speed. The issue I'm having now is that these ND filter for the Hero 8 aren't available anymore. Seems like the Hero 8 is flawed because you can't swap the lens out. I've been looking all over the internet to try to get my hands on these ND filters for the Hero 8. The only option I've found meant I'd to pay over 100 dollars and I'm not willing to invest this huge amount of money for some filters. My question is: Do you have any idea how to get my hands on these filters for the GoPro Hero 8? Thanks!

Hi David, I’m just one month into having a GoPro and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I’ve learned a lot and got into this mainly to chronicle my 3 year old son as he learns fun new things like skiing and flying around on his scooter. Keep up the great work and given that you have a young child yourself maybe someday you can give some tips on how to best capture footage of them doing cool stuff? Perhaps we could share our videos with you and you can do a video in church you review some of our stuff and say how we could do things better? Just an idea but keep it up!

Their product design was all over the place. The GoPro 8 gave us the media mod as the cool new GoPro vlogging rig. However, Polar Pro, while working with GoPro, didn't produce an adapter that fits the GoPro+MediaMod. So you have to make a choice if you want the ND Filters or the Media Mod for your vlogging, as of right now you can't choose both. Then GoPro produces a branded backpack. Which I thought would be a cool way to store my GoPro Gear. Which it is. But both the Media Mod and the Polar Pro ND filter case have such a funky fit.

I'm going to Maui with my boyfriend on the 18th so I've been watching videos on what to do while we're there, which is how I came across your channel. I was wondering which waterproof action camera (even if it's not a GoPro) you would recommend for us to use while we're there. We're going snorkeling, hiking, and we're gonna hit up some of those secret waterfalls you and your wife went to, so we're looking for something that is sturdy and will last for a while. Our price point is around $200 since most of our budget is already spent on other things, and getting a nice camera to capture these memories was kind of an afterthought. You can probably use an after market battery case for your ND filters that might fit.. They're compact and light for carrying although they have less padding for security.. Or you can use smaller filter cases..

"Comment Below" Just out of curiosity, how strong is that magnet holding the filter on?? I know, and am guessing that an ND filter would be better used for the vlogging and the cinematic side of things, but, i wonder if it would hold steady in the action sport side of things. I'm a surfer, and underwater there is a lot of water moving around me, i would say that the filter would get swept off. If you're filming underwater, with no chance of a wave hitting you, as in, filming a coral reef, i would think that it would hold on. If this magnet has a high chance of giving out in action sports, i wonder if GoPro will make something to better hold an ND filter onto the Hero 8. I feel like the Hero 7, with the screw on ND filter, would have perfectly held on in rough conditions, why would GoPro (in a way) downgrade? What are your thoughts?

Fairly new to videography and found your channel recently. Been devouring all of your videos and using a lot of your pro tips already (today I marked my batteries and charger with a silver sharpie and started using flags). I currently have a Canon Vixia HF R800 and a Hero 7 Black. I pretty much only use the GoPro as the quality is so much better, but I'm going to start playing with the Canon again now that I now more about proper settings and see if that improves the quality to closer match the GoPro. One thing I've been wanting to get into using multiple cameras to reduce the number of takes, but I'm really concerned about the quality between cameras. Because of that I was considering get another Hero 7 Black, but now that the 8 is out I'm wondering if I should get that instead. What are your thoughts on mixing cameras types for multi-angle shots and keeping the quality consistent? I'm not great at adjusting things in post, so really hoping to get the shots up front while I work on that skill. Thanks for all the great content and looking forward to your response!

They're not designed to be used underwater, but there's rarely a case you would want them underwater. There's usually not enough light underwater, even in tropical spots, to need them
