Why You Need To CHANGE YOUR FACTORY CAR SPEAKERS IMMEDIATELY!!

In this video I show why I think you should change your factory car speakers immediately! If you're like me, an audiophile of sorts, then you've probably noticed how dreadful your car, truck or SUV's factory speakers are. The process to change them out is relatively similar for most vehicles and can sometimes even be easy. In this video I work with my 2005 GMC Envoy (same as Trailblazer) and swap out the front component factory speakers for a brand new Infinity Reference REF-6522EX set that sound incredible.

it is a woofer. it is not a "sub-woofer". the large cone is typically called a woofer. midrange refers to the type of speaker and the frequencies it is designed to play, but a midrange still uses a woofer to make the sound.

Some of the Monsoon stuff is ok-ish though. Doesn't look fancy, but plenty loud and clear enough for a stock setup. However some of the speakers use dual coils that are trickier to find drop-in replacements for. (Basically leaving you to re-do the whole system including the head unit and amp if you decide to go for something else.) In my case I stuck with the stock style system, but using a set of revised replacement speakers. The early stock speakers were prone to separation where the cones attached to the basket. That was the only problem and time I had significant distortion on it. No problems since changing it though.

If you don't have a sign Dynaudio,Bose or Harman Kardon, take that Sh*t right out of your car and buy better speakers... @Tom Smith theres no way youre dumb enough to think an audio signal is comprised of just "a+, a-"... Full range signal you SPED. 20hz to 20,000hz. Having done a full custom HQ build in an 06 Trailblazer very recently... im expremely familiar with the factory audio in this vehicle. The Envoys, have tweeters in the dash. The ones in the doors are unused. Simply there for ease and cost of manufacturing and assembly. The signal to the door speakers is 35hz to 2800 hz at a 6db crossover on the top, and 12 db at the bottom. For your kindergarden brain, that means the tweeters are not functioning. And his new woofers are not getting the full range signal that they can handle (down to 20hz).... and up to 3000hz. For these GMs, you need to rob the soeaker wires from the tweeters in the dash and run them to the doors. You also need speakers with seperate lugs for the tweeter and the woofer.... so you can run all 8 front signals to the front doors. Tweeter R woofer R tweeter L woofer L. If this was a chevy he'd be fine. Why dont you go learn litterally anything before arguing?

@@1RoadGarage oh they were by no means great but as far as stock speakers from the 80s they weren't too bad i had a 85 caprice and those speakers were absolute garbage the best stock speakers i had were on a 93 caravan im pretty sure they were infinitys i remember when i scrapped the car i made sure to take the speakers and was surprised that the writing on the magnet was an actual brand

What i think is most important is, that if you have bad speakers you always have to put the volume up. If you have a proper speaker and dampening you can drive with less volume which is also better for your ears. Bose in my opinion is better than the usual ones but at all. Not The best.

I would have used the infinity component speakers better. You could have used the woofer with the stock tweeter or done what you did in your 95 Suburban. In essence it was a slight downgrade in spatial music property.

Well he should've still not mounted it in that factory location if he was using components. He should've mounted them in the a-pillar for to bring them up to the height of his ears. Having the tweeter in the door like that is just stupid.

@1RoadGarage
@1RoadGarage 5 жыл бұрын
if I was you I would get on crutchfield website, enter in your car information and they will tell you exactly what speakers you need in terms of size and fit and then you can just use that information to go based off of the price you want to pay. And, I hate to say it but definitely check Amazon to see if the speakers are cheaper. sometimes you can find last year's model speakers for literally half price which is exactly what I did.
