Again, an Aikido "practice torso" mounted on a pedestal at appropriate height with lifelike arms and all the joints would be ideal to practice this technique with if alone. Wish someone could come up with and market one. 🙏 KEEP ON GROWING AIKIDOFLOWERS!

I love the way you film your stuff outside in the sun rather than in the Dojo. 🙏

Two old guys practicing Aikido in the street. I love this. Why? Because I'm an old guy too (I'm 60) and have been practicing Aikido since 1978. Oh, I won't lie to you; I'm not as fluid or smooth or as fast as I once was in my younger days. But yeah, Kote Gaeshi has always been my go-to move for as long as I can remember. In my 20s, Kashawaya Sensei once told us, "There are over 10,000 techniques in Aikido. But there is no need to learn all of them. Just learn one or two FROM EVERY POSSIBLE ANGLE AND ATTACK." That really hit home with me. Forty years later and it's still in the forefront of my mind.

Gentlemen, you are the best. Been studying since 12, many systems & too instructors. Post retirement now. Still active. Aikido my core. Hand speed and structural balance in motion 2 keys. A 20 something who had been mouthing iff in a karaoke bar tried to pull me off a corner stool. Gave him a taste of iron palm on his heart, then pinned him back and explained the facts of life. Studying your videos has given me confidence in your assessment & response tactics. My move was classically like your approach. Thank you for being real, smart & real smart about our art. PS the “bouncer” never noticed from 20 feet behind me. I had to be my own stealth bouncer. No regrets. 😊

The initial wrist grip, how do you get the person to let you free?
@thenande19 күн бұрын
His left hand grabbed the attacker's right hand to hold it back so that he could pull his right hand out towards the front. It's like the force of both arms pulling apart vs the attacker's single right hand grip, the grip is not going to hold.

@thenande Thanks, that's the energy flow principle, good quick thinking.
