Hi Jeremy, wondering how you would compare the blond and black M5A. Thanks

#...6007 rocks! Right now, these are deffo the best mandolin value for money out there. Agree with all the ratings you gave.

These are times to get really good quality mandos at a decent price. There seems to be a lot of builders doing great work. Are we in a "golden age"?

16th subscriber LIKE clicked for this 117th desktop playback-studio view of your review. Do they make an OVAL HOLE version of that one? For now, comparing that with my Gold Tone A-style oval-hole (with zero fret/nut & pickup!). That one you are playing sounds and looks great. Particularly like the shape of the body end of the fingerboard... no extension.

Are they planning a sunburst or dark amber mandolin? Not so keen on black or blonde. Thank you.

We don't have any news about new finishes, but I know they're always working on new things! We totally agree, a sunburst or darker mandolin would be a great addition to the line!

Is this Johnny Cash's mandolin? Seriously though, are you buying what you called string mufflers at an auto parts store? They look like grommets used to prevent wires from being worn when they need to go through sheet metal. If they are grommets what size what size are they? Where can I get some for my mandolin?

I found mine at Home Depot.

Black a-style, not one mention of the one who made it famous, Tim Obrien

Tim certainly did help, and we’re big fans of his! We actually got to sit down with him on our Podcast - kzbin.info/www/bejne/imanpHmtjruehNksi=jdfO4zB5psIZl0QO

I really like the Eastman Octive 806e mandolin. Not up to that speed yet. Talking about black, I have a Black Martin prototype, not quite Johnny Cash, but shades of his. Thanks, Jeremy and John.

Should you really be adding surpressers to a new instrument ? Should there be pinging ? I know nothing much about mandolins just sounds odd to have to add bits .
@AcousticShoppe Жыл бұрын
When it comes to mandolin, these "pinging" overtones are actually pretty common & many musicians use these gromets to suppress them!

I don't like single action truss rods either. I personally don't care for black tops. I think this mandolin sounds really good for the price though. Maybe they will consider the dual rod and shortening the head stock. Over all nice mandolin 😊
@luvbgrass Жыл бұрын
@@f5mando I don't know how many brands are made with single rods. Maybe a lot. I'm not a mandolin expert. Since they have really short necks maybe they are not be as susceptible to back bow as banjos or guitars. I had a pretty nice Gold Star banjo that developed a slight back bow. I couldn't adjust it out. Therefore I hade to send it to a luthier in NC that had to do some major neck work on it for me. So, I personally just like to have a dual acting rod, just in case. John or Jeremy could give maybe a better answer on mandolins.
