One of my favorite things about kokou no hito is escapism. I think escapism is processed so well. Mori doesn't want to fame or status. The mountains are places where Mori escapes from society because Mori is a guy who finds salvation in there.

I noticed the shift in quality and demographic, now it makes sense why it happened. I started this manga because The Masked Man on KZbin placed it as his 5th favorite, so I decided to check it out since I liked a lot of his recommendations. Started off as a fun shounen, but like you said, quickly started to show depth. It was beautiful, definitely in my top 3 right now, and definitely comparable to similar masterpieces like Vagabond that also tackle philosophy and the meaning being a difficult medium rather than the medium itself.

Yeah, you can literally see the point where the author changed, the art style took a more realistic route rather than the shonen jumpy art style. The previous author clearly wanted to dive deeper into the past of buntarou (the suicide attempt) which the second author was not intrested in. Some characters seems that the prevoius author had so much plans for, but have been scrapped by the artist when he took over. The second author clearly aimed for the realism of buntarou's development, rather than the usual shonen trope where everything that happens to the main character revolves around one certain event that happened in their past. The change in author might be the best thing that happened to this manga.

I literally just finished reading it and it has so much to it the literal representation that Sakamoto can express is ART after reading blue period I feel like I can understand art a little bit more and I love it so much it's so freaking cool Mori is the most interesting character I've ever read about. Never seen anything like it. Also, I liked the part at the end of this video made me happy.

05/25/23 23:04 The training arc starts now. I will compromise what I must if it means I can be better than yesterday and give my all to a bigger purpose. Even if it costs me time with people. Especially if it costs me time with people... we are born alone in one container of skin with one tongue and mouth to speak of one lie and truth at a time. One brain to perceive one person's thoughts, one vision through two eyes to see one person's path, one heart to understand and love the life one person has to offer. I am that one person. You are that one person. We are born to drift until we find our resting place in a craft that we can wholeheartedly give our lives to. I will create mine, and pass this torch on for the sake of my children. Take care.

@@Viral-Hit-v5q i got into a relationship with a girl that lasted until two weeks ago. It was thirteen months long. I still talk to her as she's one of my closest female friends and someone I can rely on to express myself at times. I ended up becoming amongst the top ten in my grade academically, though it was more chance and abilities i already had than preparation. I was a main character in a play at my school and became a representative in my school of what others might call the "student council". I have escaped the need to isolate myself and have become more centred around talking with people. I don't know how to, but I'm learning to. In all respects however, i have not changed in ways i said i would. But I'm reaching out to God more. I've been placing myself in positions wherein I need to cover distance with either running or walking rather riding a bicycle or taking a taxi. Small steps but steps nonetheless. I've decided that IT is my dream. I will get there someday. God bless you and all of us. May we rise to the standards we hold in private.

My favourite manga I’ve ever read and a huge reason why I’ve started climbing and mountaineering. I’m glad there is a group of people that appreciate this manga as much as I have. It would be very interesting to see where the story would have gone if the authors had stuck to the shounen sports theme. I think it would’ve still been an awesome manga but there’s no way it would’ve been better than what we got.
